All India K-Pop Contest: Finals to be held today evening

NEW DELHI: Korean Cultural Centre India will live-stream the finals of the K-Pop Contest in India through the official YouTube channel of the Korean Cultural Center India (Korean Cultural Center India) from 5.00 pm today on Saturday, the November 27th.

Due to the Covid-19 crisis, the 2021 All-India K-Pop Contest, held online from July 16 to August 16, had a total of 3,664 participants (vocal: 1,863, dance: 1,801) from all over India in the first qualifier round. Out of these, 402 (vocal: 192, dance: 210) cleared the first round, and the finalists were selected online from September 15 to October 31 in 20 cities. A total of 85,098 people (likes: 8,484, comments: 10,877) streamed the 2nd regional qualifier round, which took place over a total of 20 days and received an overwhelming response from the locals.

A total of 40 participants will be live-streamed through the YouTube channel of the Korean Cultural Centre India, with one team selected for each song and dance category from 20 cities. The two finalists from each category will be invited to Korea for cultural experiences, exchanges and to visit K-Pop-related facilities.

The All-India K-Pop Contest, launched by the Korean Cultural Centre India in 2012, has established itself as an annual K-Pop-related festival in India and has been continuing for the 10th time in 2021. In the 2018 contest, First lady Mrs. Kim Jung-sook attended and encouraged participants and K-Pop fans.

On the finals stage, in celebration of the final round of the 2021 K-Pop Contest in India, Ambassador of the Republic of Korea, H.E. Jang Jae-bok, and Mayank Agarwal, the President of DDTV also sent congratulatory videos. In addition, a special performance by Kasyap, a singer from Sony Music in India, will be presented along with interesting performances and various programs.
