Constitution Day: General awareness of Constitution and NALSA for mentally challenged persons

JPU's PG Political Science Department Head and Researcher developed a general understanding of the Constitution among children. DALSA's panel advocates and employees made important points on the subject matter.

CHHAPRA. On the instructions of Bihar State Legal Services Authority (BALSA), under the auspices of Saran District Legal Services Authority a “General understanding of the Constitution, Fundamental Rights and Fundamental Duties, Right to Education and NALSA Legal Services Scheme for mentally challenged persons 2015” legal awareness event was organized at Saran Academy Plus Two School in Chapra city under the chairmanship of the Chief Guest Prof. (Dr.) Vibhu Kumar, Head of the Department of PG Political Science, Jai Prakash University (JPU).

While inaugurating the legal awareness camp, panel advocate Dr. Amit Ranjan administered the oath on the Preamble of the Constitution to the present crowd. The welcome address was delivered by the school girls. The panel Advocate entered the topic by reciting articles on the common understanding of the Constitution, Fundamental Rights and Fundamental Duties, and the Right to Education.

Taking it forward, Kaustubh Nihal, a political science researcher at Jai Prakash University, presented the fundamental duties in an understandable manner through quotes from the diary. JPU Political Science Department Head, Prof. (Dr.) Vibhu Kumar, while being concerned about the environment, pointed towards the AQI index of severe air pollution and talked about prevention and compliance with fundamental duties by motivating children to plant oxygen-emitting trees.

In his presidential address, he developed a general understanding of the Constitution among the children in an understandable manner. After this, school students Jaya Kumari, Preeti Upadhyay and student Amogh Kumar presented their views on the Constitution.

Nazre Imam, Bench Clerk of Dalsa Saran, while introducing NALSA Balsa and Dalsa, explained in detail the legal services provided by Dalsa Saran.

Panel Advocate Dr. Amit Ranjan explained the background, and principles of the NALSA Legal Services Scheme for Mentally Ill and Mentally Disabled Persons 2015, legal services to mentally ill and mentally disabled persons in psychiatric buildings, hospitals and other similar places and prisons. Psychiatric hospitals, buildings and facilities, legal services to destitute, homeless and destitute mentally ill and mentally disabled persons, steps to be taken by legal service institutions, legal services to mentally ill and mentally disabled persons during court proceedings were discussed in detail. Trainee teacher Rukhsana also addressed this session through her statements and poems. The awareness camp was also addressed by former members and teachers of Gopalganj Permanent Lok Adalat, Kanchan Bala and PLV Ravish Kumar.

The welcome speech and vote of thanks were given by the Principal of the school, Dr. Vijay Kumar Singh. Jhanvi, Priya, Priyanka, and Pooja performed the song under the direction of music teachers Ram Janam and Kanchan Bala. In the end, the students included in the welcome song by Amit Ranjan were awarded medals and Dr. Vibhu Kumar’s Kar Kamals by Nazre Imam.
