‘Hope of Mask Support’ (희망의 미스크 지원) reaches needy Indian students from Korea

SEOUL/NEW DELHI: The Seoul Youth Center for Cultural Exchanges (MIZY Center) recently distributed laptop, masks, and study material to the underprivileged students in Bihar under the project Hope of Mask Support (희망의 미스크 지원).

Encouraged by this initiative, more Korean organizations have offered to send support to the needy students in Bihar, and other parts of India.

As many as 125 primary and secondary level students of NPS Basantpur Harijan Tola Primary School and Anganwadi School in Vaishali, Bihar were handed over laptop, masks, pens, pencils, and notebooks by the representative of the MIZY Center on September 4.

A Memorandum of Association (MoU) was signed between NPS Basantpur Harijan Tola Primary School Vaishali and MIZY Center to this effect on March 22 this year, said Bhushan Kumar, a native of Vaishali.

Lecturer at the Department of Political science and International Relations who is teaching graduate school’s Master and Ph.D. students in Korea, Bhushan Kumar was on a personal visit to his family in Vaishali. He distributed the material to the students.  Kumar is also teaching Indian culture at Korean National Diplomatic Academy & UNESCO Korea.

According to Kumar, many Korean companies based in Korea as well as in India have expressed their desire to support disadvantaged students in Bihar in time to come.

“MIZY Centre also planning to visit directly to India and support primary and secondary school students of the schools, which lack basic infrastructure for education. They are willing to support more schools in Bihar as well as other parts of India,” he added.

Kumar said many organizations from Korea, such as Wang Ramen India, the makers of well-known Ramen noodles,  and others are willing to help the needy students in India. Some people at the individual level also have confirmed to offer their donations and funds for this noble cause.
