NEW DELHI/GURUGRAM: In a first of its kind initiative to promote high-performance and quality Japanese products in India a “Tokyo Mela 2024” with the theme “Inspire Japan Life in India” is being organized in Gurugram at DIA PARK Premier Hotel on February 11, Sunday. To the delights of the visitors, the Tokyo Mela 2024 would also have Japanese Food & Beverage booths, product sales counters and also workshops on subjects – Studying Japanese Language and Culture with Anime, and KENDO & JUDO trial sessions.

The well-known Japanese companies and leading brands from Japan and product specialists from Japanese manufacturing companies will be there to explain their products in person. Some of the major Japanese companies include Canon, SHARP, CASIO, Tostem, Tiger, Pigeon, Pilot, and Omron. ASUKU India, Hobby Craft, KASE, URSA, Veena Enterprises, Main Dish, Darkins, Jyotirgamaya, Maahikaari, DiGhent Café, SAB, Bean Brew & Beyond, and others are also going to participate in the Tokyo Mela 2024.

Ravi Prakash, General Manger, DIA Park Premier Hotel said, “Most of our guests are executives from Japanese leading companies. Their purpose is to bring the products filled with Japanese technology and propagate it in India. Through this MELA, we hope that many people will be able to experience Japanese products directly and have a new experience. So, we are going to make the opportunity to get advanced products. And the product specialists from the manufacturing companies will be on hand to explain their products in person.”

Having earned the sobriquet of “Epitome of Japanese Hospitality” and successfully serving the Japanese community for over a decade, the DIA Park Premier Hotel has been a venue of many Japanese events in the recent past.

Its regular flagship event is the rice pounding (MochiTsuki 餅つき) competition where Japanese families, accompanied by their children and women, reveled in a rich array of Japanese delicacies in December every year. The most interesting element of this annual event was the participation of over sixty Japanese families, mostly the young couples and their children numbering who actively indulge into the rice ponding – a Japanese ritual. These children along with their parents could be seen pounding rice in the large wooden vessel or stamp mill called usu.

Last year this all-Japanese hotel added one more feather to its hat – the golfing simulation practice facility at its premises. To make indoor golfing an experience of a lifetime, the hotel added facilities to package and offer to its guests the DIA Golf Wellness Club.
