Jennifer Makhecha (Tseng Hsiao-Li), Chairperson of Taiwan Chamber of Commerce Mumbai joins ACN Advisory Board, an Asian Think Tank

An offshoot of the Asian Community News (ACN) Network, the ACN Editorial Advisory Board brings the experts from East Asian countries together on a common platform for strengthening the Indo-Asian relationship and bilateral ties through media and advocacy.

NEW DELHI. Jennifer Makhecha (Tseng, Hsiao-Li), Chairperson, Taiwan Chamber of Commerce Mumbai has joined ACN Editorial Advisory Board as an Honorary Board Member from Mumbai.

She is also a board member and advisor with the Committee on the Asia Pacific Industrial Cooperation (APIC), a joint trade body floated by Taiwan Economics Ministry and top corporate groups to promote trade and business between Taiwan and Southeast Asian countries including India, Vietnam, Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, and the Philippines.

Jennifer Makhecha is the second person of Taiwanese nationality to join the ACN Board.

Peters Li-ying Chen, Assistant Representative, and Director of Education, Taiwan’s Taipei Economic and Cultural Center (TECC), Government of Taiwan, ROC, has already come on board.

Living in India since 2004 in Mumbai, she is happily married to Kamal Makhecha, a well-known corporate personality known for his chain of Raymond Stores in Gujarat and Maharashtra. She is also an OCI holder.

A graduate of Tamkang University, Ms. Jennifer has been actively involved in the corporate sector promoting Indo-Taiwanese bilateral interests in Maharashtra, especially in Mumbai, the financial capital of India for the last 17 years.

Her activities include organisning annual India Taiwan Industrial collaboration seminar in Mumbai since 2019, signing of MOU with IMC chamber in 2017 and MACCIA (Maharashtra Chamber of Commerce, Industrial, and Agriculture) in 2020 for mutual business development, organisining India-Taiwan culture event in 2018 in Mumbai, arranging campus recruitment for Taiwan companies in Mumbai/India in 2019, and played a pivotal role in connecting Taiwan University to DY Patil group DYPIM management college and also in the signing of an MOU for research collaboration and internship program in 2020.

Ms. Jennifer was honored with “Taiwan Top 10 Overseas Outstanding Young Persons” award in 2019. The following year, she was certified and appointed by the Taiwan government ministry “Overseas Community Affair Council” as associate advisor of India.
