The event was inaugurated by the Ambassador of Japan to India, Hiroshi SUZUKI, Embassy of Japan.

This year again the ‘Konnichiwa Japan 2023’ is going to be organised at the same venue in December.

The Commendations ceremony, a prestigious annual event, aims to recognize and appreciate those who have made significant contributions to enhancing international relations and fostering mutual understanding between Japan and other countries. The awards ceremony also serves as a platform to bolster public support and enthusiasm for the efforts of the recipients. Alongside the commendations, the Ministry will also acknowledge the outstanding skills of chefs who serve as culinary ambassadors for Japan.

This year’s event holds particular significance as the world grapples with the challenges posed by the ongoing global pandemic. Despite the obstacles, individuals and groups have persevered in their commitment to building bridges of cultural exchange and cooperation, exemplifying the enduring spirit of international partnership.
