80 Korean companies bring beauty, food and building solutions to India at KOINDEX 2026
Starting today at Yashobhoomi IICC, the Second edition sharpens its focus to three sectors after the inaugural expo generated nearly $417 million in business consultations.
New Delhi, August 27, 2026: Around 80 Korean manufacturers and exporters are arriving in India for KOINDEX 2026 with products and technologies spanning beauty, food and construction—three sectors selected for their strong commercial performance at the exhibition’s inaugural edition.
The Korea Industry Expo will be held from August 27 to 29 at Hall 1C of Yashobhoomi, the India International Convention and Expo Centre in New Delhi. The participating companies will occupy 106 booths, turning the three-day business-to-business exhibition into a concentrated showcase of Korean consumer brands, industrial suppliers and technology-led small and medium enterprises.
Instead of attempting to cover every promising Korean industry, the second edition has been organised around three concurrent exhibitions. BeautySUM India will feature skincare and functional cosmetics, beauty devices, hair and personal-care products, cosmetic ingredients and packaging. FoodIndx will present processed and health-functional foods, beverages, fermented products, as well as food-processing and packaging equipment. KOREA BUILD in India will cover building materials, construction technologies and equipment, building services, and fire and disaster-safety solutions.
The official announcement gives a combined figure of approximately 80 Korean companies across these three sectors, but does not provide a separate company count for each exhibition. The sector mix nevertheless shows where Korean exporters see immediate openings in India: an expanding beauty and wellness consumer base, growing demand for international and premium foods, and sustained investment in buildings and urban infrastructure.
KOINDEX’s more selective format also responds to evidence from the previous show. The first edition, held in November 2024, was much broader, with eight sectors and 233 exhibitors. It attracted around 14,000 visitors and generated 5,993 business meetings. Organisers recorded approximately $417 million in consultation value.
Construction led the three sectors retained for 2026, accounting for $170.5 million in consultation value at the inaugural event. Beauty generated $60.3 million and food $32.2 million. Together, the three accounted for $263 million—about 63 per cent of the event’s total recorded consultation value. The 2026 edition is therefore smaller in exhibitor numbers but more sharply targeted at categories that produced the strongest business response.
The show’s commercial emphasis extends beyond product displays. Participating Korean companies are expected to hold pre-matched, one-to-one export consultations with buyers from India and South Asia. The targeted visitors include project owners, engineering, procurement and construction contractors, distributors, wholesalers, e-commerce platforms and food-distribution businesses. Buyer recruitment has been undertaken with KOTRA New Delhi and Indian industry organisations.
For Korean companies testing the Indian market, regulatory knowledge can be as important as finding a distributor. A seminar by the Korea Testing Laboratory will explain Bureau of Indian Standards certification and other market-entry requirements. A dedicated Export Consortium pavilion, operated with the Korea Federation of SMEs, will provide a route for smaller Korean businesses seeking partnerships and distribution channels.
The exhibition opens on August 27 with an inaugural ceremony, followed by the Indo-Korea Economic and Trade Cooperation Forum organised with the Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency and the Korea International Trade Association. Representatives of government, industry bodies and participating companies from both countries are expected to attend.
Hosted by the Government of Gyeonggi Province, KOINDEX is positioned as a bridge between Korean manufacturers and India’s large, fast-changing market, while also offering access to buyers across South Asia. It is organised by KINTEX, Messe Esang, KOTRA and KITA, with the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry as industry partner.
The central test for KOINDEX 2026 will not simply be footfall. Its success will depend on whether the 80 participating companies can convert focused meetings into distributor appointments, sourcing arrangements, technology partnerships and viable paths through India’s regulatory system. By concentrating on beauty, food and construction, the expo is placing that bet on sectors in which the first edition has already demonstrated measurable demand.
