Delhi Anime Club Set to Host ANI-MEET 2.0: India’s Anime Revolution Returns
After a series of successful community engagements, Delhi Anime Club’s signature event — ANI-MEET — is back on June 15 with an upgraded experience celebrating Japanese pop culture, cosplay, and community
New Delhi, India – Anime fans across the National Capital Region have reason to rejoice. ANI-MEET, the flagship event of the Delhi Anime Club (DAC), is returning for its second edition on June 15, 2025, at the Global Foyer Mall in Gurugram. Dubbed ANI-MEET 2.0, the one-day immersive festival promises a kaleidoscope of Japanese pop culture—ranging from cosplay, live DJ anime music, and cultural exhibits to VTubing introductions, panel discussions with influencers, and brand-led anime product showcases.
Organized by the Delhi Anime Club, a passionate collective of anime and manga enthusiasts, ANI-MEET was created to bring like-minded individuals together and offer a vibrant platform for celebrating all things Japanese entertainment. DAC has been instrumental in building a thriving J-pop fan ecosystem in India through consistent offline events such as anime movie meetups, cosplay engagements, and collaboration projects with Japanese organizations and brands.
This year’s ANI-MEET marks a significant evolution in scale and content. According to Deven Gupta, the driving force behind DAC and ANI-MEET, “ANI-MEET is not just a fan gathering—it’s a cultural bridge that connects Indian youth with Japanese imagination and artistry. We are proud to see the community grow with each event, and ANI-MEET 2.0 will reflect that progress.”
Previous editions of DAC events have already set the benchmark high. In 2024, DAC partnered with the Dia Park Premier Hotel for Tokyo Mela, offering an authentic cosplay gig that captured the attention of both Indian and Japanese attendees. Additionally, DAC successfully hosted Waconne AniFest and its sequel, in collaboration with Japan’s World Connect Project (Nextstart Co.), introducing VTubing to Indian audiences—a trend now gaining steady traction among Gen Z content consumers.
Waconne AniFest 1.0 saw over 650 registrations and 380 in-person attendees, while AniFest 2.0 raised the bar with 550+ participants and new features such as influencer panels, anime quizzes, and curated giveaways. Another standout initiative was Men of Culture: The Rumbling, where India’s most popular anime YouTubers—Badal Yadav (Bnftv), Priyanshu Jaiswal (PJ Explained), and Dr. Mohit Yodha (Comicverseyt)—interacted directly with fans through live performances, photo ops, and autograph sessions.
ANI-MEET 2.0 is expected to surpass all previous records, with footfall projected between 500 and 1500 visitors. The event remains open to all, with free entry as part of DAC’s commitment to inclusivity and community engagement. The theme for this year centers on “Indo-Japan Cultural Fusion,” celebrating the artistic crosscurrents between the two countries through activities such as cosplay competitions, anime art displays, music sessions, fan contests, and live stage interactions.
An impressive line-up of anime influencers and creators has also been roped in for digital and on-site engagements. Participants include AnimeTm Talks (86.5K IG followers, 308K YT subscribers), Mewsenpai, Anicast, Weeblet, Yogesh, and Anshika (Anotatoes), among others. Their presence is expected to not only boost fan turnout but also expand ANI-MEET’s digital footprint significantly.
Brands too are finding ANI-MEET 2.0 a lucrative ground for soft launches and consumer interaction, given its niche but highly committed audience. Opportunities range from pop-up stalls and logo placements to influencer-led promotions and merchandise showcases.
For the Delhi Anime Club, ANI-MEET 2.0 is more than just an event—it’s the manifestation of a movement. As anime continues to gain popularity in India, particularly among millennials and Gen Z, such gatherings offer fans a rare chance to connect offline, express themselves creatively, and experience the cultural depth of Japanese entertainment firsthand.
With the countdown to June 15 underway, excitement is mounting across anime communities online and offline. Whether you’re a seasoned cosplayer, a die-hard manga reader, or simply curious about the anime wave sweeping across India, ANI-MEET 2.0 is poised to be a cultural landmark you won’t want to miss.
