Japan and Taiwan Delegations Visit Amity University to Forge Global Partnerships in Research, Innovation, and Placements

Top leaders from Japan’s Embedded Systems Technology Association and 10 leading Taiwanese universities explore collaboration with Amity University in cutting-edge research, academic exchange, and global employability.

Noida, India – Amity University Uttar Pradesh (AUUP), Noida, witnessed a remarkable week of international academic engagement as two high-powered delegations from Japan and Taiwan visited the campus to explore wide-ranging collaborations in research, innovation, and student placements.

A 25-member delegation from the Japan Embedded Systems Technology Association (JASA), led by Kenji Otsu, Chairman, Japan Embedded Technology Education Associate, and Toshiyuki Yamada, Managing Director, JASA, visited Amity to strengthen ties in research, internships, and employment opportunities.

Speaking at the occasion, Yamada said, “Japan leads the world in high-quality manufacturing built on advanced embedded technology. However, we see a growing demand for global engineers who can work with our member companies. We are here to discuss employment opportunities for Amity students to enhance their technical expertise and global readiness.”

Welcoming the delegation, Dr Balvinder Shukla, Vice Chancellor, Amity University Uttar Pradesh, emphasised that this visit marked “the beginning of a long-standing and mutually enriching association” aimed at fostering collaborations in embedded systems, advanced materials, nanotechnology, automobiles, and medical applications. She highlighted that several Amity students are already placed in Japanese companies and expressed optimism about expanding this relationship further.

The Japanese delegates, including top executives from Yanai Electric and Machinery Co. Ltd, InsightOne Corporation, and other industry leaders, toured the Amity Drone Centre, Amity Centre for Artificial Intelligence, and other high-tech research facilities. They appreciated the university’s state-of-the-art infrastructure and innovation ecosystem.

Taiwan Delegation: Expanding Academic and Research Cooperation: In another significant engagement, a 26-member delegation from 12 leading Taiwanese universities — including National Tsing Hua University, Providence University, China Medical University, Tamkang University, and National Kaohsiung Normal University — visited Amity University to explore joint research projects, student mobility programs, and dual-degree collaborations.

Wang Wei-Chung, Director, National Tsing Hua University, expressed delight at the opportunity, stating, “We look forward to engaging with Amity’s faculty and researchers on cutting-edge projects that can strengthen the research ecosystems of both countries while fostering cross-cultural understanding and innovation.”

Dr Balvinder Shukla reaffirmed Amity’s commitment to “research-driven education,” adding that collaboration with Taiwanese institutions would open new avenues in emerging fields through joint research, dual degree, and articulation programs.

Dr Gurinder Singh, Group Vice Chancellor, Amity Universities, emphasised that Amity is committed to global exposure for its students, ensuring they adapt seamlessly to diverse work environments. He identified potential areas of cooperation in Psychology, Cancer Biology, Biotechnology, Information Technology, and Pharmacy.

Senior leadership, including Dr Sanjeev Bansal and Dr Chanderdeep Tandon, Additional Pro Vice Chancellors, joined in welcoming the delegation, highlighting the strategic importance of Indo-Taiwanese educational partnerships.

A Global Hub for Innovation and Collaboration: Through the visits of both Japanese and Taiwanese delegations, Amity University continues to position itself as a global hub for academic excellence, international research, and industry partnerships, bridging the gap between education and employability across Asia.
