KEC Introduces Innovations in Korean Language Teaching: An AI-Powered Approach
AI-Integrated Teacher Training Initiative Aims to Transform Korean Language Education in India
New Delhi, India — The Korean Education Centre India (KEC) has announced the launch of a special workshop under its Korean Language Teachers Training Program (KLTTP), introducing artificial intelligence (AI)-integrated teaching methodologies to strengthen Korean language education across the country.
The initiative comes amid a steady rise in demand for Korean language learning in Indian schools and higher education institutions, alongside a limited pool of qualified instructors. By incorporating AI tools into teacher training, KEC aims to enhance teaching effectiveness, improve student engagement, and support a more scalable approach to language education.
The workshop places a strong emphasis on empowering educators by integrating AI into lesson planning, classroom interaction, and assessment. This approach is expected to support more personalized and adaptive teaching practices while enabling teachers to better address diverse learning needs.
A key highlight of the program will be a special session led by Prof. Satyanshu (샤티안슈) Srivastava of Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), who has developed AI-based tools designed to support Korean language learners beyond the classroom.
Drawing on commonly observed challenges in Korean language education—such as navigating nuanced grammatical structures and ensuring consistent, individualized feedback—Prof. 샤티안슈 has introduced two AI-powered learning tools: “KoreanFix” and “K-GrammarPro.”

“KoreanFix” provides real-time, sentence-level corrections along with clear explanations to help learners refine their writing skills. “K-GrammarPro” focuses on explaining and differentiating complex grammatical patterns in a structured and learner-friendly manner.
These tools are designed to complement classroom teaching by extending learning opportunities beyond traditional settings. By offering continuous support and accessible practice resources, they aim to enhance learner understanding while also supporting teachers in managing larger and more diverse classrooms.
The workshop will be conducted in a hybrid format, enabling participation from Korean language teachers, trainees, and educators across India, including those in regions where access to specialized instruction remains limited.
According to KEC, the integration of AI into teacher training represents a forward-looking step in strengthening language education systems. By equipping educators with practical, technology-enabled methodologies, the initiative seeks to improve both the quality and accessibility of Korean language education nationwide.
“This initiative represents an important step toward building a future-ready model for Korean language education in India, KEC Director KO HO-JEONG said. “By supporting teachers with AI-assisted approaches, we aim to create a more effective and sustainable learning environment.”
The program is also expected to contribute to broader academic collaboration between India and Korea, while encouraging innovation in foreign language teaching practices.
The Korean Education Centre India continues to play a key role in promoting Korean language education, academic exchange, and institutional cooperation between the two countries, supporting students, educators, and institutions nationwide.
