KEC India to Deploy Trained Korean Language Teachers in 15 CM SHRI Schools

New Delhi, August 2026: The Korean Education Centre India (KEC India) is preparing to deploy newly trained Korean language teachers to participating CM SHRI Schools under the Delhi Government, marking a significant step towards expanding Korean language education in Delhi’s schools.

As part of preparations for the programme, KEC India recently conducted an online coordination meeting with representatives of 15 CM SHRI Schools. The meeting focused on key aspects of implementation, including programme structure, participating grades, class schedules, expected student strength and proposed commencement dates.

KEC India introduced two models for the participating schools — a Curriculum Model for Grade 6 and a Vocational Model for Grades 9–11. Schools were asked to select the model and grades best suited to their educational requirements, while also providing suitable schedules and proposed dates for the start of classes.

The initiative comes shortly after the successful completion of KEC India’s Korean Language Teacher Training Programme (KLTTP), through which a new group of locally trained Korean language teachers underwent intensive training to enhance their Korean language teaching skills and classroom preparedness.

KEC India is now working to establish a direct connection between these trained teachers and CM SHRI Schools, creating a structured pathway from teacher training to classroom deployment. The initiative is expected to contribute to the development of a sustainable ecosystem for Korean language education in India.

During the ongoing coordination process, participating schools are providing information regarding student numbers, preferred programme models, class schedules and proposed commencement dates. Based on these details, KEC India will finalise teacher allocation and coordinate their deployment across individual schools.

The programme also reflects the growing interest among Indian students in learning Korean, driven not only by increasing engagement with Korean culture but also by the potential academic and career opportunities associated with Korea.

By investing in locally trained teachers while simultaneously creating new opportunities for students to study Korean within their schools, KEC India aims to establish a long-term model for expanding Korean language education across Delhi.

KEC India will continue to work closely with the participating CM SHRI Schools to facilitate the smooth commencement of classes and strengthen access to Korean language learning for students across the national capital.
