Gyeongsangbuk-do Delegation’s India Visit Opens New Pathways for Bilateral Business Growth
Successful negotiations, productive B2B meetings and participation in KOINDEX and Beautysum India 2026 strengthened commercial ties, while Helen Lee emerged as a goodwill brand ambassador for India–Korea business relations
NEW DELHI: A high-level business delegation from South Korea’s Gyeongsangbuk-do province concluded a highly productive visit to India, turning a series of carefully planned meetings into meaningful negotiations, promising business deals and new opportunities for long-term commercial cooperation between the two countries.
The visit demonstrated how regional Korean enterprises and Indian businesses could move beyond conventional buyer-seller relationships and explore deeper partnerships involving local production, technology exchange, distribution, sourcing and participation in global supply chains.
Supported by Saehan Global Consulting, the ten-company delegation represented a diverse range of sectors, including healthcare, wellness, premium food and beverages, cosmetics, biomaterials and advanced industrial infrastructure. The participating companies arrived in India with products and business proposals, but the visit ultimately delivered something more valuable: direct access to Indian entrepreneurs, manufacturers, distributors, advisers and industry organisations.
At the centre of the initiative was Lee Hyunsook, widely known across her Indian network as Helen Lee, founder and CEO of Saehan Global Consulting. Her leadership, personal involvement and long-standing commitment to India–Korea relations helped transform the delegation’s visit into a significant business-development exercise.
Over the course of the programme, Lee emerged as a goodwill brand ambassador for India–Korea business relations. She not only introduced Korean companies to potential Indian partners but also helped them understand the country’s business environment, cultural expectations and long-term market potential.
B2B Meetings Generated Tangible Outcomes: The delegation began its India engagement with an intensive round of business-to-business meetings in New Delhi. The Korean companies held detailed negotiations with Indian entrepreneurs, importers, distributors and industry representatives.
These discussions went beyond introductory conversations and resulted in fruitful business deals, follow-up commitments and promising negotiations that paved the way for future commercial development. Several companies identified potential Indian partners, while others initiated discussions on distribution, product localisation, sourcing, manufacturing and joint ventures.
The meetings also allowed Indian businesses to closely examine Korean products, technologies and commercial proposals. Korean delegates, in turn, gained valuable insights into Indian consumer preferences, regulatory requirements, price sensitivities and market-entry strategies.
The outcomes reinforced the delegation’s belief that India could serve not only as a large consumer market but also as a production base, innovation partner and gateway to other international markets.
FII Delegation Joined Talks at Hotel ibis: On the second day, a delegation from the Federation of Indian Industry (FII) visited Hotel ibis and held a focused interaction with the Korean delegation.
The meeting brought Korean companies face-to-face with Indian manufacturers, entrepreneurs and industry representatives. It provided both sides with an opportunity to identify complementary capabilities, discuss areas of cooperation and examine how Korean technologies and products could be aligned with India’s manufacturing and market-development priorities.
The interaction with the FII delegation strengthened the institutional dimension of the visit. Discussions covered possible collaborations in product distribution, local sourcing, contract manufacturing, technology transfer and the creation of sustainable commercial partnerships.
The meeting also underlined the importance of industry associations in supporting small and medium-sized enterprises entering unfamiliar markets. By connecting the visiting companies with relevant Indian businesses, FII helped create a platform for negotiations that could be developed into concrete projects in the months ahead.
Delegation Expanded Outreach at Yashobhoomi: The delegation leader also attended KOINDEX and Beautysum India 2026, held at Yashobhoomi in New Delhi, where the Korean delegation continued its business outreach.
A further series of B2B meetings was conducted at the fair, enabling delegation members to connect with a wider network of Indian buyers, distributors, investors, entrepreneurs and industry professionals. The exhibition provided the Korean companies with direct exposure to the growing Indian interest in Korean food, beauty, wellness and industrial technologies.
The delegation’s participation at Yashobhoomi helped carry forward the momentum generated during the earlier meetings. Companies were able to present their products, assess market responses and continue negotiations with prospective partners in a professional exhibition environment.
The delegation included companies such as Kim’s Red Ginseng, Hemp & R Bio/Hemp Global, AI-AI-I Food, MKM Omija/Keundeul Omija, Korea Applerise, More Kimchi, Mijin Cosmetics and Cleantech. Their portfolios ranged from red-ginseng wellness products, hemp-based biomaterials and traditional Korean foods to cosmetics, beverages, cleanroom garments and protective equipment for high-technology industries.
Helen Lee’s Decade of Relationship-Building Bears Fruit:
The success of the programme reflected Helen Lee’s sustained efforts to build trust between Indian and Korean business communities. For nearly a decade, she had cultivated relationships with entrepreneurs, institutions, advisers and community leaders while helping Korean enterprises understand the complexities of the Indian market.
Her approach consistently emphasised that success in India required patience, cultural understanding, physical presence and dependable local relationships.
“I hope they will be recognised as the fruit of a network that I, as CEO of Saehan Global Consulting, have cultivated with tears, sweat and unwavering faith over the past ten years,” Lee had said ahead of the visit.
Saehan Global Consulting’s partnership with Asian Community News Network also supported the broader objective of promoting responsible and sustainable India–Korea business cooperation. The partnership combined Saehan’s Korean business network and market-development experience with ACN’s understanding of Indian institutions, industries and India–East Asia relations.
The delegation returned with valuable market intelligence, new business contacts, successful negotiations and a pipeline of opportunities. More importantly, the visit strengthened confidence among participating companies that India and Korea could build enduring partnerships founded on trust, shared growth and mutual commitment.
What began as a delegation visit ultimately became another important milestone in India–Korea economic engagement—and a strong foundation for the next phase of bilateral business development.
