INSTAPIZZA 1st to deliver through PPE-clad boys, and live stream its kitchens

Owing to the rapid spread of Covid-19, I too am a bit careful about hygiene and cleanliness when ordering food from outside. Pizza cravings led me to give Instapizza a home-grown pizza brand a try as not only did the menu look delectable and it was reasonably priced but they promised safety…!

For those who don’t know, InstaPizza was established by Ashwin Jain out of his eternal adoration for pizzas and a clear vision to adapt this international food to the Indian Palate. The first outlet was propelled in August 2014 at the Galleria Market.

Anyway coming back to the delivery, Instapizza takes its protection and sanitation extremely seriously, and to make sure that its patrons can see what they do to keep them safe while baking those crusts, Instapizza has just initiated Instapizza’s CrustFlix, where one can live-stream what’s cooking in the kitchen all day, every day, by tuning in to #CrustFlix (www.instapizza.in/crustflix).

Instapizza has also employed its personal delivery fleet #TrustBrigade to ensure that the last mile between the brand and its patrons is protected safely. I placed my order on www.instapizza.in which was fulfilled by The Trust Brigade. The delivery executive came with a full-body PPE suit, including a plastic face mask to safeguard that he is completely contained.

He also shared that post each delivery, the exterior of every delivery executive’s PPE is thoroughly sanitized. What’s more…my delivery came with a sanitizer wipe so I didn’t have to look for my own.

Ashwin Jain, Founder, Instapizza.

“We’ve always maintained strict hygiene in our kitchens, and in the last two months, have increased the intensity of focus on extreme hygiene. Together, CrustFlix and TrustBrigade are designed to eliminate any risks associated with the food delivery and to ensure that our customers can trust us to keep our kitchens, our teams, and their food 100% safe. We will continue innovating on our procedures and operationalizing our hygiene and safety initiatives to make sure that we continue to do absolutely everything we can to operate in a safe manner”, says Ashwin Jain, Founder, Instapizza

In the kitchen, the box is positioned inside the delivery hot bag which is then given to the rider. Delivery hot bags are disinfected after each order. And the TrustBrigade wears the PPE half on while on bike as it’s too hot otherwise.

Once they arrive at the customer’s house, they put on the body, face shield, and gloves prior to removing the pizza in its brown bag from the Delivery Hot Bag. They will then place it at the customer’s residence and call the customer.  Yes….the pizza was decadent and the nuggets yummy on the side….and we paid under 2000 for a delicious and safely delivered mail…..!
