Chennai, September 15, 2026: Students in South India considering higher education in Korea will have an opportunity to speak directly with university representatives when the first Study in Korea Education Fair in Chennai takes place on September 20 at The Leela Palace Hotel.

The National Institute for International Education (NIIED), in collaboration with the Consulate General of the Republic of Korea in Chennai, is organising the fair. Twelve Korean universities and institutions are expected to participate, offering students and families a chance to explore study options in one place.

Participating institutions named by the organisers include Kangwon National University’s Gangneung campus, Konkuk University Glocal Campus, Kyungdong University Global, Dongguk University, Chonnam National University, Busan Health University and Busan University of Foreign Studies. Representatives of other institutions will also be present.

At university booths, prospective students can seek tailored, one-on-one advice on academic programmes, admission requirements and life on campus. University spotlight sessions and admissions briefings will cover scholarship opportunities and application strategies, helping attendees move beyond general information to questions relevant to their own plans.

NIIED has previously held Study in Korea Education Fairs in Delhi. Bringing the initiative to Chennai for the first time extends that direct access to students in South India, where interest in Korean education is growing.

The fair will also introduce attendees to Korean language and culture. The King Sejong Institutes of Chennai and Bengaluru will take part, while the programme includes Sejong Korean cultural activities. A lucky draw and photo booth are among the other highlights listed for the day.

The fair will be held in Royal Ballroom C at The Leela Palace Hotel, Chennai, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 20. Entry is free and open to the public. Pre-registration is available through the QR code on the event poster.
