Indo-Japan Business Council’s IT & ITeS delegation marks success at Japan IT Week

TOKYO: In a landmark development fostering bilateral business ties, the recent week-long IT and ITeS Business Delegation organized by the Indo-Japan Business Council (IJBC) to Japan IT Week in Tokyo has concluded with resounding success. The delegation, composed of 10 C-level executives from Mumbai, Pune, Ahmedabad, and Delhi, marked a significant milestone in enhancing economic collaboration between India and Japan.

Japan IT Week, the nation’s largest IT exhibition, unfolded at Tokyo Big Sight from April 23 to April 25, hosting over 900 exhibitors from around the globe, including a substantial representation from India.

Tokyo Big Sight, Japan’s premier international exhibition center, provided a fertile ground for interaction and innovation, offering attendees a platform for exploration and networking.

During their week-long visit from April 21 to April 27, delegation members immersed themselves in Japan’s rich cultural milieu and dynamic business environment. Engaging with industry experts and seizing opportunities at the prestigious IT Week, the delegation’s experience significantly contributed to their professional growth and comprehension of Japan’s market dynamics.

The delegation included Siddharth Deshmukh, Founder and CEO, Shimbi Labs; Kailash Kumawat, Director and VP Japan, Shimbi Labs; Onkar Bari, Director and CEO, IchiBan Infotech; Sudhir K Jaiswal, CEO, ESSPL; Devansh Shah, Director, Lets Enkindle Softserv Pvt Ltd; Kapil Saini, Director, Lets Enkindle Softserv Pvt Ltd.; Vivek Sidhu, Director, Kuruma Travels Pvt. Ltd.; Bijendra Singh, Director, Kuruma Travels Pvt. Ltd.; and Priyadarshan, Founder, Freelancer.

Sudhir Jaiswal, a delegate, shared his insights, noting, “With over 900 exhibitors, it was heartening to witness more than 45 Indian IT services/solutions companies actively seeking business prospects in Japan.”

Siddharth who is also Founder & President of Shimbi Labs, said that it was the 5th delegation the IJBC took to Japan since Covid pandemic struck. It plan to take more such delegations to Japan during the current year.

Looking ahead, the council encourages active participation in future delegations, inviting entrepreneurs and business enthusiasts to embark on a journey of exploration and collaboration.

The upcoming October 2024 Business Delegation presents a distinctive opportunity to engage with Japan’s burgeoning IT and ITeS sectors, further solidifying Indo-Japan business relations.
