Joonhwa Bin, MD, South Asia Head Office, KOTRA joins ACN Advisory Board, an Asian Think Tank

An offshoot of the Asian Community News (ACN) Network, the ACN Editorial Advisory Board brings the experts from East Asian countries together on a common platform for strengthening the Indo-Asian relationship and bilateral ties through the media and advocacy.

NEW DELHI. Joonhwa Bin, Managing Director, South Asia Head Office, Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA), Commerce Section, Embassy of the Republic of Korea has joined ACN Editorial Advisory Board as an Honorary Member.

Mr. Bin assumed the responsibility as Managing Director of KOTRA South Asia HEad Offcie, New Delhi in August last year, and oversees KOTRA’s operations in India, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Nepal and Bhutan.

While thanking ACN for inviting him to join ACN Editorial Advisory Board as Honorary Member, Mr. Bin said, “More and more companies from Asian countries are coming to India. I believe we can share lots of ideas and issues together.”

Since 1962 as part of the Korea’s first 5-year Economic Plan, KOTRA has been dedicated to creating new export markets and increasing Korea’s trade value, which reached $1 trillion in 2011. In the late 1990s, the agency helped Korea overcome the Financial Crisis by starting its foreign direct investment promotion division. And in the last half century, KOTRA has played a significant role in supporting Korean companies expanding overseas.

Mr. Bin joined KOTRA in 1997 and has shown leadership in various fields including information planning, online marketing, economic diplomacy, overseas network operation and audit office. He has worked in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, New Delhi, India, and Dallas, the United States of America.

Mr. Bin’s focus is on expanding trade between Korea and India and South Asia, and creating jobs and contributing to the development of the Indian economy through active investment by Korean companies. He also promotes to solidify the close relationship between two countries by expanding not only the trade of goods but also the exchange of cultural contents and services.

KOTRA New Delhi office was established in 1976 and has worked actively to promote trade and investment cooperation between India and Korea.

ACN Editorial Advisory Board welcomes Mr. Bin to this Think Tank, which is all set to get greatly benefitted from his rich experience and insightful ideas and thoughts.

The Board plans to take the delegation of its members to various heads of state/union governments to discuss various Indo-Asian matters, prepare Advisory Document and submit the same to the government.

ACN Editorial Advisory Board also offers an opportunity to participate in Webinars/Seminars organized by ACN in which the government representatives/bureaucrats/ministers/Corporate leaders, Academicians/intellectuals from various countries could be invited to participate.
