K.R. Mangalam University providing innovative ways, nurturing inquisitiveness in students: Pranab Mukherjee

NEW DELHI: Bharat Ratna and former President of India Pranab Mukherjee said that K.R. Mangalam University has been instrumental in providing innovative ways and nurturing the inquisitiveness in the students.

The 13th President of India and the country’s highest civilian award recipient Pranab Mukherjee said this after conferring degrees to the students in the Second Convocation of K.R. Mangalam University, Gurugram held at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, New Delhi on November 23.

Mukherjee delivered the convocation address and stressed the importance of research in academia.

The former President also appreciated the university for pursuing research and developing new programs for promoting innovation and entrepreneurship among students.

Eight Hundred and Twenty (820) students received degrees during Convocation 2019.

Out of which 362 graduated in 2018 and rest 458 in 2019. This number includes 698 undergraduates, 76 postgraduates, 5 Doctoral degrees, and 41 diplomas.

Around 29 student toppers of 2018 and 2019 Batch with more than 8.5 CGPA in their respective streams were bestowed with Gold Medals by the former President.

Padam Shri Prof. Dinesh Singh, Chancellor, KRMU welcomed the Chief Guest and presided over the Convocation ceremony. He congratulated the graduands and said, “I hope that the education imparted to you at this prestigious institution will help you not only in your career but will also make you a responsible citizen of India”.

In his address, Prof. Aditya Malik, Vice-Chancellor, KRMU said “Our teaching is organized in a manner so that learners are immersed in experiences within which they may engage in meaningful inquiry, research, action, imagination, creation, discovery, collaboration, theorizing, and personal reflection.  We provide a teaching and learning environment that gives students an opportunity to design their own degree and choose a specialization that suits their own interests.”

Established in 2013, K.R. Mangalam University’s vision is to develop as a world-class University and to deliver a substantial innovation and international impact through the creation and dissemination of knowledge. It offers undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral degree courses in Journalism, Engineering & Technology, Business and Management, Architecture, Medical, and Allied Sciences, Law, Basic and Applied Science. KRMU has 12 Schools: School of Agriculture, School of Architecture & Planning, School of Basic & Applied Sciences and School of Engineering & Technology, School of Education, School of Fashion, School of Humanities, School of Hotel Management & Catering Technology, School of Journalism & Mass Communication, School of Legal Studies, School of Management & Commerce, School of Medical Allied Sciences.

With the objective of redefining education to fit the contemporary needs and challenges, K R. Mangalam University has established the Institute for Inventions, Innovations and Entrepreneurship (TIIIE), The Institute for Inventions, Innovations, and Entrepreneurship (TIIIE) offers innovative programs in two new streams of education namely: Digital Humanities and Innovation, IT and Entrepreneurship.
