NEW DELHI: February 27 marked a significant step towards fostering cross-cultural employment opportunities as the Korean Cultural Centre India hosted a recruitment briefing session for the ‘Korean Venture Startup Festival 2024’. With the aim of connecting Indian talent with Korean venture companies, this event witnessed the convergence of 117 Korean firms and hundreds of Indian students, igniting prospects for mutual growth and collaboration.

The Korean Cultural Centre India has been instrumental in facilitating access to educational and employment avenues in Korea for Indian students. This session, attended by representatives from both governmental bodies and private enterprises in Korea, garnered immense interest with over 3,000 Indian students and young professionals registering to participate.

A survey conducted by Korea’s Ministry of SMEs and Startups in July 2023 revealed India’s prominence in the preferences of Korean companies for outsourced talent, particularly in the software sector. India emerged as the top choice, with 36.4% of companies expressing a preference for Indian software professionals, followed by Vietnam (31%) and China (11.8%).

Recognizing India’s significance as a talent pool, the decision to host the ‘Korean Venture Startup Festival 2024’ in India marks a departure from its domestic-centric focus in previous years. The recruitment briefing was strategically organized at key educational institutions including the Korean Cultural Centre India, Jawaharlal Nehru University, and Indian Institute of Technology Delhi.

During today’s session, attendees received comprehensive guidance on employment prospects in Korea, followed by one-on-one interviews with pre-registered applicants. Hwang Il Yong, Director of the Korean Cultural Centre India, expressed optimism that this initiative would foster greater avenues for Indian students seeking opportunities in Korea.

With the convergence of Korean innovation and Indian talent, the ‘Korean Venture Startup Festival 2024’ stands as a testament to the growing synergy between the two nations, promising mutual prosperity and advancement in the field of entrepreneurship and technology.
