Fabcafe by the Lake opened its doors in November amid the plush surroundings of Sunder Nursery Park, the well-known Heritage Park in New Delhi.
The pop-up cafe by the Lake makes for an idyllic retreat in the lap of nature especially launched to enjoy the winter sun and spring blooms until April 2021.
The location is charming in itself, sitting comfortably overlooking the scenic lake. It gorgeously stands among greenery as a chic café and patio. The design seems to be inspired by rustic simplicity, unrestricted by brick and mortar.
Thankfully I had a reservation, as it is difficult to find a place, more so on a warm sunny afternoon. But just in case the restaurant is too busy, you can always grab a meal tray and find a picnic spot of your choice. Needless to add for people around being here seemed reason enough; soaking in the magnificence of an old-time era while appreciating a selection of viands below reproach.
The Trio of grains Papri Chaat does not disappoint and the Dak Bungalow vegetable Curry and gluten-free dumplings are truly outstanding. I was pleasantly surprised to find Sugarcane juice on the menu and would recommend the same.
And not to mention desserts like the caramelized banana cake will have you swooning in no time. All dishes served have a balance of savor and texture, the beauty of simplicity.
An experience here reflects the spirit of the new Indian, who expects warm hospitality, in an ambiance that is as urbane as it is hygienically decadent, with the essence of comfort food at accessible prices.
