1st Japanese Cultural Immersion Camp Brings Japan’s Traditions to Life at Amity Vasundhara
Two-day cultural camp offers students a vibrant hands-on experience of Japanese art, cuisine, and traditions with support from Japan Foundation
New Delhi: The first-ever Japanese Cultural Immersion Camp is set to take place on 8th and 9th May 2026 at Amity International School, Sector-6, Vasundhara, offering students a unique opportunity to explore the rich traditions and cultural heritage of Japan.
Organised under the blessings and guidance of Dr. (Mrs.) Amita Chauhan, Chairperson of Amity Group of Schools, the initiative is led by the Amity Educational Resource Centre (AERC) in collaboration with AIS Sector-6, Vasundhara, and supported by the Japan Foundation. The camp aims to deepen cultural understanding and foster global awareness among students through immersive, hands-on experiences.
Scheduled from 9:00 AM to 12:30 PM on both days, the camp will feature a wide range of engaging activities that reflect the essence of Japanese culture. Participants will get the chance to explore traditional art forms such as Origami and Kirigami, express creativity through Anime and Daruma art, and experience authentic Japanese attire with a Yukata session. The program also includes Japanese calligraphy, culinary experiences, and the highly revered tea ceremony, along with a cultural showcase.
To ensure wider participation, key segments of the camp will also be accessible virtually. The Tea Ceremony on Day 1 (8 May) will be streamed live from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM, while the Valedictory and Closing Ceremony on Day 2 (9 May) will be available online from 12:30 PM to 1:30 PM.
The Japanese Cultural Immersion Camp stands as a significant step in promoting cross-cultural exchange and providing students with a deeper appreciation of global traditions beyond the classroom.
