New Delhi, India – The Korean Education Centre in India (KEC) participated in a vibrant cultural and educational programme titled “Seoulful Sanskriti: From the Han River to the Holy Ganga” at Rainbow English Senior Secondary School, celebrating the growing cultural and educational ties between India and the Republic of Korea.

The programme showcased students’ enthusiasm for the Korean language and culture through a series of performances, creative displays, and interactive activities. Students currently studying Korean actively participated in cultural experiences that allowed them to engage with Korean traditions beyond the classroom, reflecting the growing interest in Korean studies among young learners in India.
Dr J.R. Kashyap, Chairman, and Sourabh Kashyap, Principal (Rainbow Group of Schools, Delhi and Himachal Pradesh), were also present on the occasion.
A key highlight of the event was a hands-on Korean food experience that introduced students to Korean cuisine in an engaging and enjoyable way. The activity not only familiarised students with Korean food culture but also strengthened their motivation to continue learning Korean through practical cultural exposure.
Addressing the gathering, Ms Hojeong Ko, Director of the Korean Education Centre in India, expressed her appreciation for the school and the students’ dedication to learning Korean. She praised the students’ creativity and passion in various cultural activities, including art, dance, and cuisine.
“It was truly a wonderful cultural exchange event. I was deeply impressed by the students’ enthusiasm for learning the Korean language and culture. Their creativity and talent were remarkable, and their efforts clearly reflected a strong interest in Korean studies,” Ms. Ko said.
In a special moment that resonated with the students, Ms Ko addressed the Korean language learners in Hindi, encouraging them to embrace the learning process with confidence. She reassured students that challenges with pronunciation are a natural part of language learning and wished them continued success in their studies.
“सबसे पहले, इस सुंदर कार्यक्रम के लिए मैं विद्यालय परिवार को दिल से धन्यवाद देना चाहूँगी। अगर कभी कोरियन उच्चारण मुश्किल लगे, तो घबराइए मत — हम सब सीखने की प्रक्रिया में हैं। मैं आप सभी को इस उत्सव के लिए ढेर सारी शुभकामनाएँ देती हूँ,” she said, concluding with warm thanks in multiple languages.
The programme reflected the strong collaboration between schools and the Korean Education Centre in promoting language education and cultural understanding at the grassroots level. Through such initiatives, KEC continues to support institutions that have adopted Korean language education and to foster people-to-people connections between India and Korea through education and culture.
In a major milestone for India–Korea people-to-people ties and education diplomacy, the Republic of Korea officially opened the Korea Education Centre (KEC) in New Delhi on January 15, 2026, marking the first-ever Korea Education Centre in India. The centre was set up to promote Korean language education, support identity learning among overseas Koreans, expand academic cooperation, and serve as a public platform to attract Indian students to Korea.
