Gurugram, June 5, 2026: Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) has launched the Hyundai Innovation Challenge 2026, a six-month innovation programme aimed at partnering with startups to develop next-generation mobility and automotive technology solutions. Through the initiative, HMIL is inviting applications from startups working in areas such as electrification, new mobility, connectivity, advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), artificial intelligence, and future vehicle technologies.

Supported by Hyundai Motor Group’s global open innovation platform ZER01NE, the challenge seeks to identify promising startups and provide them with opportunities to collaborate with Hyundai in shaping the future of mobility. The programme will offer selected participants access to Hyundai’s innovation ecosystem, expert mentorship, Proof-of-Concept (PoC) grants, and potential commercialization opportunities.

Announcing the initiative, Tarun Garg, Managing Director and CEO of HMIL, said the future of mobility will be driven by collaboration, innovation, and bold ideas. He noted that the Hyundai Innovation Challenge has been designed to bring together talented entrepreneurs and startups to co-create transformative solutions for the mobility sector.

He added that India’s vibrant startup ecosystem has emerged as a significant contributor to global innovation and that Hyundai views startups as strategic partners in building a smarter and more sustainable future.

Applications for the programme are open until the end of June 2026 through a platform managed by LINK Innovation, a global startup consulting and accelerator firm. While Hyundai has identified 15 focus areas for the challenge, startups with innovative solutions beyond these categories are also encouraged to apply.

Following a multi-stage evaluation process, shortlisted startups will present their solutions before HMIL’s leadership team. Selected participants will receive opportunities for technology co-development, market exposure, access to Hyundai’s customer ecosystem, and potential long-term strategic partnerships and investments.

With the Hyundai Innovation Challenge 2026, HMIL aims to strengthen collaboration between industry and startups while accelerating the development of innovative technologies that can redefine the future of mobility in India and beyond.
