Over 43,000 Fans Flock to Anime India Delhi 2026

Yashobhoomi Turned into a Japanese Pop Culture Hub for 2 Days. Anime India Delhi 2026 ended on a high note with cosplay, gaming, manga, J-Pop, Japanese guests, fan panels, industry sessions and a massive turnout of anime enthusiasts.

New Delhi: Anime India Delhi 2026 concluded on a spectacular note, drawing over 43,000 anime enthusiasts to the Yashobhoomi Convention Centre and firmly establishing itself as one of India’s biggest celebrations of anime, manga, gaming, cosplay and Japanese pop culture.

The two-day convention transformed the capital into a vibrant fan-driven destination, bringing together anime lovers, creators, cosplayers, gamers, collectors, artists, brands and industry professionals under one roof. With its scale, programming and enthusiastic turnout, Anime India Delhi 2026 emerged as the event’s biggest and most memorable edition so far.

From cosplay showcases and gaming experiences to live performances, fan activities, exclusive merchandise, Japanese cultural displays and industry interactions, the convention offered an immersive experience for anime fans from across the country. Throughout the weekend, visitors engaged with their favourite fandoms, met fellow enthusiasts and celebrated the growing influence of anime culture in India.

One of the biggest attractions of the edition was legendary Japanese voice actor Kazuhiko Inoue, best known as the voice behind Kakashi Hatake in Naruto and Yoriichi Tsugikuni in Demon Slayer. His presence drew huge crowds and gave Indian fans a rare opportunity to interact with one of anime’s most iconic voices.

The event floor featured several immersive attractions for fans. Shoutengai Street, inspired by Japan’s bustling shopping districts, emerged as a major crowd-puller with exclusive merchandise, collectables, and anime-themed discoveries. The Japan Pavilion presented a vibrant showcase of Japanese culture, entertainment and brands, while the Fandom Realm became a lively meeting point for anime enthusiasts, cosplay groups, creators and fan communities.

“Anime has become the number one choice of content for the next generation. We are happy that we could give this experience to all the anime fans of India. We were glad to get an overwhelming turnout of more than 43,000 attendees across both days,” said Anime India co-founder and director Mishaal Wanvari.

With Anime India, our vision is to create an immersive and unforgettable celebration where fans can experience everything, from iconic Japanese guests and cosplay to gaming, music, food, creators, and unique fan interactions. This edition was all about bringing the anime community closer together than ever before,” said Anime India co-founder and director Neha Mehta.

Japanese Guests, J-Pop and Pop Culture Highlights: Among the key highlights, Japanese anisong artist YURiKA led one of India’s largest ticketed J-Pop concerts, thrilling fans with songs from popular series such as Little Witch Academia, Beastars and Land of the Lustrous. Her high-energy live performance created sing-along moments and reflected the deep connection between global anime music and Indian fans.

Toyota presented a special Attack on Titan-themed experience, offering fans an immersive brand-led attraction. Takara Tomy officially brought the Beyblade experience to India during the event, adding another major Japanese entertainment element to the convention.

Anime India Delhi also featured one of the largest gaming zones ever seen at an anime convention in India. The Baahubali franchise showcased its first official promotional materials at a public event, while three major cosplay competitions brought together some of the country’s most talented costume artists and performers.

Fans also gained access to a wide selection of officially licensed anime merchandise, collectables, apparel, accessories and exclusive products from leading Japanese entertainment franchises.

Delhi’s anime and Japanese pop-culture fans were in for a high-energy live music experience on Day 1 as J-Hind Band took the stage at Anime India Delhi 2026. The four-member band featured Takashi Suzuki, Koji Sato, Taisei Toyomaru and Akihiko Oki, who performed live for fans at the event.

Carrying the tagline “Japan Vibe, Desi Energy,” J-Hind Band’s performance blended Japanese musical sensibilities with the excitement of India’s fast-growing anime and pop-culture community.

Built by Fans, for Fans: Anime India Delhi was not only about celebrity guests and big attractions. It also created a world built by fans, for fans, with panels, contests, workshops and interactive experiences, adding depth to the celebration.

The featured fan panels included “It Actually IS That Serious: Nagano’s Chiikawa and its Working-Class Dystopia,” which explored the hidden themes behind Chiikawa, including its kawaii aesthetic, portrayal of working life and the relationship between the Chiikawas and the monsters outside their structured society.

Another interactive session, “Mahou Shoujo Dress-Up War: Create Your Own Magical Girl,” celebrated the creativity of the magical girl genre. Participants designed original magical girl characters with unique outfits, powers, backstories and transformations.

The “Introduction to Gunpla” session offered a beginner-friendly live demonstration on building and detailing Gundam model kits, introducing attendees to Gunpla assembly, customisation and the craftsmanship behind one of Japan’s most beloved hobbies.

The “INKMATION Spotlight: The Rise of Webtoons” session featured creators Satan_Navi and Vishnarts, who discussed the growing world of webtoons from both reader and creator perspectives. The panel explored the medium’s impact on fandom, storytelling and its role in bridging audiences and artists.

In “A Collector’s Journey with Siddharth Chugh,” fans got a personal look into the world of anime collecting, from rare finds and fandom culture to the passion and stories that make collecting an important part of the anime experience.

Gaming and Esports Industry Sessions: Anime India Delhi also hosted B2B industry sessions for gaming enthusiasts and professionals. The Gaming Studio Panel: “Leveling Up the Orange Economy: India’s Gaming Revolution” examined opportunities emerging from India’s expanding gaming ecosystem and its contribution to the creative economy.

The Game Design Panel, “Mechanical Artistry: Crafting Emotion Through Game Aesthetics,” brought together industry experts to discuss how visual design, mechanics, and storytelling combine to create memorable player experiences.

The event also featured the Esports Panel: “The DNA of Modern Esports Teams,” which explored the evolution of competitive gaming organisations, including team structures, talent development, content creation and the growing professionalism of the esports industry.

On day two, gaming enthusiasts gathered for “Rise of Indie-Bharat: Building, Funding, and Launching Games in India,” which explored the opportunities and challenges shaping India’s growing game development ecosystem.

The Artists Alley spotlighted independent artists and creators, featuring original artwork, handcrafted creations and exclusive merchandise that attracted collectors and fans throughout the weekend. The Versus Experience kept gaming enthusiasts engaged with competitive tournaments, interactive challenges and high-energy gaming activities.

Cosplay Circuit Becomes a Major Crowd Favourite: The Cosplay Circuit stood out as one of Anime India Delhi’s most celebrated attractions. Cosplayers showcased remarkable creativity, craftsmanship and dedication to their favourite characters. From intricate costumes to crowd-favourite performances, the competitions captured the true spirit of anime fandom and delivered some of the festival’s most memorable moments.

The programming was spread across three dedicated stages: the Flagship Stage, Shoutengai Stage and Meet and Greet Stage. The Flagship Stage hosted the opening ceremony and partner panels focused on anime and gaming. The Shoutengai Stage entertained audiences with live performances, guest appearances, contests and community-driven activities. The Meet and Greet Stage gave fans memorable interactions, including special sessions with Japanese anime singer YURiKA and other engaging experiences throughout the weekend.

Partners, Exhibitors and Participating Brands: Anime India Delhi was presented by Anime Times, with Toyota as the title partner and Uniqlo as the silver partner. Om Shakti Management joined as the show management partner.

The education partners included Acumen – Study In Japan, Navi Japan, Kansai University, Manav Rachna University, Kyoto University of Advanced Science, Tokyo International University, Arena Animation – South Extension, MAAC Faridabad and MAAC Kamla Nagar. Radio City India joined as the exclusive radio partner, while Wok Tok by Veeba came on board as the official snack partner.
