India, Korea Deepen AI Partnership Through Global Forum in Seoul

Experts, policymakers, researchers, and industry leaders from India and South Korea will convene at Ewha Womans University on July 4 to advance collaboration in artificial intelligence, innovation, and digital transformation.

Seoul, Republic of Korea, July 4: The India–Korea Forum (IKF) is set to host the India–Korea Forum on Artificial Intelligence 2026 on July 4 at Ewha Womans University, Seoul, bringing together policymakers, academics, researchers, entrepreneurs, startup leaders, and industry experts from India and South Korea to explore new avenues of cooperation in artificial intelligence under the theme, “Fostering India–Korea AI Cooperation in a New Digital Era.”

The day-long forum aims to strengthen bilateral collaboration in AI research and innovation, digital transformation, startup ecosystems, talent development, AI governance, healthcare, manufacturing, and future technologies.

As artificial intelligence continues to reshape economies and industries worldwide, the forum seeks to serve as a platform for meaningful dialogue and practical partnerships between the two countries.

The inaugural session will feature opening remarks by Gourangalal Das, Ambassador of India to the Republic of Korea, followed by congratulatory remarks from Yeokyung Yoon, Director, Department of Global Partnership for Startups, Korea Institute of Startup & Entrepreneurship Development (KISED). The event will also witness the official launch of India Brief, the India–Korea Forum’s flagship Korean-language magazine.

A keynote address will be delivered by Prof. Bong Jun (David) Choi, Professor at Soongsil University and Director of the Distributed Intelligence Lab, who will share insights into the rapidly evolving landscape of artificial intelligence and its growing impact on global innovation.

The forum will feature three thematic sessions covering AI policy, entrepreneurship, research, governance, healthcare, education, and industrial applications. Speakers include leading experts from academia, government agencies, research institutions, venture capital firms, startups, and global technology companies such as Samsung Electronics.

A strategic roundtable discussion will conclude the event, providing an opportunity for participants to deliberate on future avenues for India–Korea cooperation in AI.

Speaking ahead of the event, Prof. Rajiv Kumar, Founder and Director of the India–Korea Forum, said that artificial intelligence has emerged as one of the defining technologies of the twenty-first century and that India and South Korea possess complementary strengths in AI talent, digital innovation, advanced manufacturing, semiconductors, and startup ecosystems.

He noted that the forum aims to foster meaningful dialogue and practical collaboration that will contribute to a stronger and future-oriented partnership between the two nations.

The event is expected to attract participants from universities, research institutes, government agencies, startups, businesses, and the wider public interested in the future of AI cooperation between India and South Korea. Through discussions involving leading experts from both countries, the forum is expected to lay the groundwork for stronger institutional partnerships, innovation-driven collaboration, and long-term engagement in one of the world’s fastest-growing technological sectors.
