LUNA ARTS to Present ‘NIRBHAY Edition 2’ at India Habitat Centre in New Delhi

August 22 to 26: The five-day contemporary group exhibition will showcase paintings and sculptures by 33 artists from across India, alongside a live Indian classical music performance during the inauguration.

New Delhi: Luna Arts will present “NIRBHAY Edition 2,” a five-day contemporary group art exhibition, from August 22 to 26, 2026, at the Open Palm Court, India Habitat Centre, in New Delhi.

Bringing together 33 artists from different parts of the country, the exhibition will showcase a diverse collection of contemporary paintings and sculptures. It will offer visitors an opportunity to explore varied artistic practices, creative perspectives and visual interpretations emerging from India’s contemporary art landscape.

The exhibition will be inaugurated on Saturday, August 22, at around 6 PM. The opening ceremony will feature a 15-minute live Indian classical music performance, speeches by distinguished guests, a preview of the exhibited artworks and interactions between visitors and participating artists.

NIRBHAY Edition 2 will mark Luna Arts’ 22nd exhibition in Delhi NCR and its third presentation at the India Habitat Centre, strengthening the Noida-based art venture’s growing presence in the cultural landscape of the National Capital Region.

India Habitat Centre is regarded as one of New Delhi’s most prominent venues for art, culture, literature and intellectual engagement. Hosting the exhibition at the Open Palm Court will provide the participating artists with an important platform to present their work before art lovers, collectors, critics and the wider public.

Live classical music at opening ceremony: A highlight of the inauguration will be a live Indian classical music performance by multidisciplinary artist Surendra Kumar.

An accomplished musician, singer, painter, sculptor and poet, Kumar works across different creative disciplines. His performance is expected to add a musical dimension to the visual experience, creating an engaging dialogue between fine art and Indian classical music.

The opening ceremony will also feature brief addresses by the invited guests, followed by a curated preview of the paintings and sculptures. Visitors will have an opportunity to meet the artists and learn about their ideas, techniques and creative journeys.

Distinguished guests: The inauguration ceremony will be attended by several distinguished personalities from the fields of art, culture, academics and media.

Among the invited guests is Ajay Samir, a celebrated visual artist and an iconic representative of the modern art era.

Qazi M. Raghib, a renowned creative director and art critic who has been based in New Delhi for the past three decades, will attend the ceremony. Raghib is associated with the National Herald as its Art Director. Another distinguished delegate will be Dr Chitranjali Negi, an advocate at the Supreme Court of India, Law Author, Researcher, and practitioner of law in eight countries.

Another distinguished guest will be Dr Bhupesh Chandra Little, former Head of Department and currently Associate Professor of Photography and Applied Art at Jamia Millia Islamia, a Central University in New Delhi.

Sanjeev Ahuja, Founder and Editor-in-Chief of Asian Community News Network, will also be present at the inauguration.

The ceremony will further be graced by Rekha Surya, an internationally known Hindustani classical singer celebrated for her distinctive contribution to Indian music.

Artists from across India: NIRBHAY Edition 2 will bring together an extensive and geographically diverse roster of artists from across the country.

The participating artists are Sowmya Sebastian from Mumbai; Anindita Sengupta from Gurugram; Jay Gohil from Surat, Gujarat; Shesalu Vadeo from Dimapur, Nagaland; Abhirup Bhattacharjee from Delhi NCR; Ruchi Raveendran from Puducherry; Payal Verma from Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh; Arijit Sen from Kolkata; Mary Tina Shamli Pillay from Chennai; and Richa Agrawal from Greater Noida.

The exhibition will also feature works by Shreng Labru from Gurugram; Sohini Banerjee from New Delhi; Sapna Gupta from Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh; Neelam Kapoor, Reet Kaur, Tripti Pandey, Monika Jain and Deepak Nayal from New Delhi; Bharti Srivastava from Gurugram; Parul Arya from Jaipur, Rajasthan; and Nitika Gupta from New Delhi.

Other participating artists include Ember from Gurugram; Saba Bawa, Avdhesh Kumar and Jyotsna Sharma from New Delhi; Tanvi Lanan from Indore; Naila Praveen, Anjana Singh and Huma Nadeem from New Delhi; Ayusmati M. Shrabani from Bhubaneswar, Odisha; Seema Bhargav from Noida; Rashmi Vishwanath from Karnataka; and Surendra Kumar from New Delhi.

Through their paintings and sculptures, the artists are expected to offer a rich spectrum of styles, subjects and visual languages. The exhibition will create a shared platform for emerging and established practitioners while encouraging interaction among artists from different regions and creative backgrounds.

Luna Arts is a Noida-based registered art venture that organises art and photography exhibitions across the National Capital Region.

Founded in December 2019 by Smita Biswas and Tushar Kumar, the organisation has developed a growing platform for artists to exhibit their work and connect with audiences, fellow practitioners and members of the art community.
