April 23: IJBC-IJL Special Lecture Series –  Session 2: Information Technology, innovation, and industries

NEW DELHI/PUNE: As part of its ongoing Special Lectures Series, the Indo-Japan Business Council (IJBC) and India Japan Laboratories (IJL), Keio University will jointly host Session 2: Information Technology, innovation, and industries on April 23.

Yukio Takeyari, Senior Researcher, Keio University, and Former Managing Director, Sony India Software Centre Pvt. Ltd, and Siddharth Deshmukh, President, Indo-Japan Business Council (IJBC) and CEO, Shimbi Labs will be the key speakers this time.

The Special Lecture Series is one of the many events the IJBC is organisnig to celebrate the year 2022 as the 70th Anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between India and Japan.

“While acknowledging India’s phenomenal growth in the field of information technology, this session seeks to deepen our understanding on changing scenario in Indian IT industries, current trend and possibilities from a Japanese perspective.  The significant role of innovation will be critically examined through practical experiences through a journey of an Indian professional who has explored possibilities for startups for IT industry in India and Japan.  We try to give you an opportunity to envisage the future course of innovation in the bilateral relations with due consideration of on-going global trend,” said Abhishek Choudhary, Vice-President, IJBC.

70th Anniversary of India-Japan Diplomatic Relations

The previous session ‘India Japan: How Near, How Far’ was organised on February 26 and it was very successful event. Sanjay Kumar Verma, Ambassador of India to Japan; Hiroshi Hirabayashi, Former Ambassador to India, France, Chairman of JFSS, and Prof. Tomohiko Taniguchi, Keio University Graduate School of System Design and Management, Special Adviser to Prime Minister Shinzo Abe’s Cabinet (retd.) were the key speakers of this session.

Ms. Tomo Kawane, an authority on India-Japan relations and independent consultant, and Abhishek Choudhary, Vice-President, IJBC had jointly compared the first session.
