Construction of Nihon Kohden’s largest medical equipment factory in India starts in Haryana

Spread across 16,135 sq. mtrs. land, the Jhajjar-based Japanese factory will be 4-times bigger than its existing Gujarat facility.

NEW DELHI/GURUGRAM: Nihon Kohden India (NKI) – a 100% Indian subsidiary of Nihon Kohden Corporation, Japan, the manufacturer, developer, and distributor of medical electronic equipment worldwide has set off the construction of it’s India’s largest manufacturing facility at Model Economic Township (MET City) in Jhajjar, Haryana. It will be almost four times bigger than its existing factory in Gujarat, said Kentaro Kusano, Managing Director, Nihon Kohden India Pvt. Ltd. in a statement. Nihon Kohden, one of the 4 Japanese companies situated in MET City alongside Panasonic, Denso, and T-Suzuki recently concluded a ground-breaking ceremony on their plot here about 50kms from New Delhi.

“We are very pleased to announce the opening of our new haematology analyser reagent factory. This 8,900 square-meter factory will be built on 16,135 square meters of land at Model Economic Township (MET City) in Jhajjar district of Haryana which will be almost four times bigger than our current factory in Gujarat. This facility marks an important milestone for our commitment to growing our business in India and positions Nihon Kohden well to achieve our vision for India – to be a trusted partner and provider to improve healthcare in the country,” said Kentaro Kusano, Managing Director, Nihon Kohden India.

Founded in Japan in 1951, Nihon Kohden is a leading manufacturer, developer, and distributor of medical electronic equipment, with subsidiaries in the U.S., Europe, Asia, and Latin America. The company’s products are now used in more than 120 countries, and it is the largest supplier of electroencephalography products worldwide i.e. pulse oximeters, arrhythmia analysis, low-invasive blood volume monitoring and wireless patient monitoring.

Established in 2011 in India, Nihon Kohden India (NKI) has continued to expand its operations to produce patient monitors, biphasic defibrillators, AEDs, ventilators, electrocardiographs, electroencephalographs, evoked EMG instruments, and haematology analysers. It also has an indigenous reagent manufacturing facility in Surat, Gujarat.
