DENSO International builds Mini Sports Complex at Govt Senior Secondary School in Gurugram under CSR

GURUGRAM. As part of its continuous efforts in improving the quality of life of the people and pay it back to society under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative, Japanese Automotive-component manufacturing company DENSO International has set up a Mini Sports Complex with facilities for football, volleyball and basketball courts at the Government Senior Secondary School, Village Bhangrola in Gurugram, a suburb of National Capital New Delhi.

Yasuhiro Iida, CEO, DENSO International India Pvt Ltd., and Senior Executive Director, DENSO Japan led a company delegation to the school on April 28 (Friday), and inaugurated Mini Sports Complex. The company delegation comprised Shinya Watanabe, Deputy Managing Director; Takuya Usami, Corporate Head; Yukihiko Noda; Deputy Managing Director, and Pushpendra Dahiya, Chief of the Admin Division. Captain Indu Bokan Kasana from Education Department, and the school principal Bhavna Wadhwa along with the company’s CSR committee members were also present on this occasion.

Since 2016, Denso International has been continuously doing commendable work in this direction, and has previously constructed toilets, established a library, and also a modern computer laboratory here.

In his address, CEO Yasuhiro Iida said that the objective of Denso International is not only to produce high-quality products but also to promote social harmony and welfare in the surrounding areas through CSR initiatives.

The golden moment of this occasion was the time when the school students greeted and welcomed the delegation of DENSO International by speaking the Japanese language. Seeing the students speaking the Japanese, CEO Yasuhiro Iida said that he was surprised to see so much talent of these government school students and it was necessary to promote their talent further in the future also.

On this occasion, Pushpender Dahiya, Chief of the Admin Division of the company said that along with pursuing formal education and studies, the students should play sports and develop their physical talent completely by using the various facilities of this sports complex.

As a part of the CSR project, the company has planted trees to promote greenery in the complex, and an underground water pipeline also has been laid to ensure an adequate supply of water to cater to the needs of the complex.

At the end of the event, CEO Yasuhiro Iida and other company officials interacted with and encouraged the school students by playing basketball with them. They also presented refreshments to the students.
