Former Japan envoy Masanori Nakano joins Sri City as Advisor

Having served as Ambassador of Japan to Jamaica, Commonwealth of the Bahamas and Belize, and other key diplomatic positions the world over, Masanori Nakano also served as Consul General of Japan in Chennai during 2011-2015.

SRI CITY (Andhra Pradesh): Sri City, an expansive integrated business city, located down south of Andhra Pradesh (AP), just 55 kilometers north of the port city Chennai has inducted the Former Ambassador of Japan Masanori Nakano as its Advisor. With this Sri City –the second largest Japanese Industrial Township in India with 29 Japanese companies already operating in it, expects stronger business partnerships with Japan enabling further investments and opportunities.

Having served as Ambassador of Japan to Jamaica, Commonwealth of the Bahamas and Belize, and other key diplomatic positions the world over, Masanori Nakano also served as Consul General of Japan in Chennai during 2011-2015. Dr. Ravindra Sannareddy, Founder Managing Director, Sri City, and Masanori Nakano signed an agreement of association in Tokyo recently.

In his first statement after assuming new responsibility as Advisor, Masanori Nakano said, “When I first visited Sri City in 2011, I was extremely impressed by its tremendous business potential. Having joined the wonderful team of Sri City, I’m incredibly honoured and delighted to work on expanding the business partnership between Japan and South India.”

Masanori Nakano served as Ambassador of Japan to Jamaica, the Commonwealth of The Bahamas and Belize from 2015 to 2017. During his term in Caribbean states, he has also served as Permanent Representative of Japan for the International Seabed Authority whose headquarters is located in Kingston, Jamaica.

His diplomatic assignments abroad include postings in Sri Lanka, USA, and Egypt, as a Political, Public Relations & Cultural officer. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Law from Waseda University, Tokyo as well as a Master’s degree in International Politics from Aoyamagakuin University, Tokyo.

Commenting on the development Dr. Ravindra Sannareddy expected that with Mr. Nakano associating with Sri City as an Advisor, the number of Japanese companies in this integrated business township will grow substantially.

“It is an honour to have with us the former Ambassador of Japan, Masanori Nakano as an Advisor. His keenness to know more about Sri City is very encouraging. We are confident that with Mr. Nakano being a part of Sri City now, more Japanese firms would want to invest here,” Dr. Sannareddy added.

Already ‘home’ to over 200 manufacturing industries from 28 countries across the world, Sri City stands out as a true manifestation of ‘Make in India’ campaign, in diverse industries and it has 29 Japanese companies including Daikin, Kobelco, Isuzu Motors, Toray, NHK, Panasonic, Unicharm, and others having their operations here.
