New Delhi/Seoul: Youngho Yoo, a Korean language tutor from the Republic of Korea who spent more than 20 years in India as Director of POSCO India Steel company, has been successfully conducting online Korean language classes aimed at promoting Korean language learning among Indian and international students.

Now based in Seoul, Youngho has positioned his teaching around practical communication rather than conventional memorisation. Drawing from his long overseas experience, including his years in India and teaching assignments in India and Uruguay, he has developed a learner-friendly method that seeks to help foreigners overcome the common difficulties they face while studying Korean.

His course has been built around an eight-step, communication-oriented curriculum, with emphasis on making Korean part of daily life. Instead of relying only on grammar-heavy lectures or textbook memorisation, Youngho encourages students to speak actively, listen carefully, and practise Korean in realistic situations.

According to his teaching introduction, Youngho’s method follows three stages — “Speak,” “Focus,” and “Feel it.” In the first stage, students are encouraged to speak for more than 70 percent of the class time, while receiving real-time correction and one-on-one feedback. In the second stage, he uses engaging learning material, including contemporary content such as animations, to make the class more immersive. The final stage focuses on personalised feedback and systematic review, helping students internalise the expressions learned during the session.

Youngho’s teaching approach reflects his belief that language learning should happen “with the mouth, not with the eyes.” His classes are designed to help even hesitant learners begin speaking confidently, moving from passive understanding to active communication.

Student reviews have also highlighted the practical and personalised nature of his lessons. One student, in a review dated May 19, 2026, described him as “a truly excellent teacher” who carefully prepared classes and adjusted lessons according to the student’s level. The student said the lessons were easy to understand and remember, and praised Youngho’s professionalism and ability to quickly identify learning problems.

Another learner, Ana Karol, said in her May 15, 2026, review that the class was “really fun” and that Youngho made it easy to speak Korean by creating a comfortable and confident learning environment. She added that she highly recommended him and wanted to take more classes with him.

A student named Malaya also appreciated the structured nature of the course, saying Youngho carefully observed her level, explained concepts clearly, used text, audio and spoken language, and prepared a special plan after assessing her skills in the first class. Another learner noted that his classes were well-organised, easy to follow and supported by practical examples that could be applied to real-life situations.

For Indian students and professionals, Youngho’s background gives his programme a distinct advantage. Having lived and worked in India for more than two decades, he understands the learning challenges, cultural context and communication needs of Indian learners more closely than many conventional overseas tutors.

His online Korean course comes at a time when interest in the Korean language, culture, business and education has been growing rapidly in India, supported by the popularity of K-content, expanding India–Korea business ties, and rising student interest in Korean studies.

By combining his corporate experience, overseas exposure and learner-focused teaching style, Youngho Yoo has emerged as one of the Korean tutors using digital platforms to make Korean language learning more accessible, practical and confidence-driven for learners beyond Korea.
