In a first, Japanese airline ANA’ partner companies hire 17 Indian technical interns under TITP

For the first time in their history, they had enlisted the talents of 17 technical trainees including three women from India, under the Technical Intern Training Program (TITP), to bolster their airport ground handling operations.

Excitement rippled through the corridors of Haneda Airport as preparations for the arrival of the trainees commenced. From the gleaming terminals to the tarmac where planes kissed the sky, every corner brimmed with enthusiasm for the imminent infusion of diverse perspectives and expertise. According to Tsuneya Katagiri (片桐 常弥),Country Manager – India & General Manager – Delhi Office, All Nippon Airways Cc., Ltd., who was among the officials seeing off the trainees at the ANA Check-in counter of IGI Airport, said these trainees hired by ANA’s partner companies would work for ground handling and cabin cleaning in Japan.

Meanwhile, across oceans and continents, in the vibrant tapestry of India, the selected trainees prepared for their journey of a lifetime. Amidst bustling streets and vibrant markets, they bid farewell to familiar sights and sounds, their hearts brimming with anticipation for the adventure that awaited them in the Land of the Rising Sun.

On the auspicious day of 18 April, the trainees gathered for a courtesy visit to the Embassy of Japan in New Delhi, a symbolic gesture of diplomatic goodwill that bridged the geographical and cultural distances between their homeland and their soon-to-be second home. Amidst handshakes and warm greetings, bonds were forged that transcended borders, laying the foundation for enduring friendships and collaborations.

As the sun dipped below the horizon, casting hues of crimson and gold over the cityscape, the trainees, accompanied by representatives from NAVIS, the sending organization, embarked on their journey to Tokyo. With hearts brimming with hope and excitement, they boarded ANA Flight NH838, bound for Haneda Airport.

The following day, as the first light of dawn painted the sky in pastel shades of pink and orange, the aircraft touched down on Haneda’s hallowed grounds, marking the beginning of a new chapter in the airport’s storied history. Amidst cheers and applause, the trainees stepped onto the tarmac, their eyes alight with wonder at the sight of their new home.

In the days that followed, the trainees immersed themselves in rigorous training programs, honing their skills under the guidance of seasoned professionals. From ground handling operations to cabin cleaning protocols, they absorbed knowledge like sponges, eager to contribute their unique perspectives and expertise to the collective tapestry of Haneda’s workforce.
