New Delhi. Indo-Japan relationship in many spheres, especially the bilateral trade and industry has looked up dramatically in the past few years, and the credit for it goes to Narendra Modi led government.

The statement came from the Indo-Japanese affairs veteran Ramesh Sharma who is known to be an authority on the subject.

“Being a non-political citizen of India, I feel in a few years since the Modi Government took over the reins, there was a dramatic surge in the friendship between two countries – India and Japan. The number of industries established in India went up during this time. More mammoth projects like high-speed bullet trains project from Japan to India, TITP skill development training program, Indian railway training projects with Japan and others were bagged by India,” said Ramesh Sharma, who is also Sakura Group President, and Founder of InBizco – a traders’ body working for promoting trade with Japan.

Apart from that the Free Trade Agreement (FTA), and the Economic Partnership Agreement (EPA) are in force, which is to be concluded, he added.

It is not only the trade that flourished between the two countries, many other sectors too looked up during the last few years, said the InBizco founder.

“To name a few, suddenly there was an increase in other bilateral spheres such as Japanese language education in India assumed pace. Simultaneously Japanese language jobs opportunities too have increased. Many more youngsters have started learning the Japanese language in India. And I am sharing all this based on my years of experience about Japan-India relationship,” said Sharma, who has worked in various sectors on this front.

The last few years also witnessed a sudden increase in the cross visits of the state heads on both the sides and the top-notch trade and commerce department officials too were part of these visits, he added.

“As its soft gesture, Japan has also become flexible in VISA policy to India. I wish and expect the present government to make India-japan relationship stronger in mutual benefits of the people of both the nations,” said Sharma.

Sharma was, however, also appreciative of the efforts and hard work put in by the opposition parties during Parliamentary elections that were swept by Modi wave.

“I am glad to learn about the decision of our Indian people in this election as they mandated the Modi government to form the next government in the Centre.
