Atsushi Nakashima, a promising Japanese designer, recently visited India to participate in the Lotus Make-Up India Fashion Week Spring Summer 2019 held in New Delhi.

Nakashima’s visit to India is one of the projects under the “Japan Brand Program” conducted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan.

After working as the head designer of Jean Paul Gaultier men’s and ladies’ diffusion line, in 2011, Nakashima went back to Japan to launch his own brand “ATSUSHI NAKASHIMA”. He has been participating in the Milan Fashion Week since 2015.

During the India Fashion Week held on October 10-13 at Jawaharal Nehru Stadium in New Delhi, Nakashima had interviews with Indian media, delivered a lecture to over 100 Indian fashion students, and showcased his collection.

On October 12, more than 500 people and media enjoyed witnessing Nakashima’s collection, which has just been showcased during the Milan Fashion Week in September.

The event was organised by Fashion Design Council of India (FDCI), which is the apex body of fashion design in India, and is represented by over 400 members.

Maruti Suzuki’s upmarket brand NEXA was the co-sponsor of the event.
