Woxsen Japan Centre Hosts ‘Kizuna Matsuri,’ Celebrates Indo-Japanese Cultural Bond

Hyderabad, India – The Woxsen Japan Centre at Woxsen University, Hyderabad, Telangana, India, successfully hosted Kizuna Matsuri, its first flagship event celebrating Indo–Japanese cultural and academic engagement. The event brought together distinguished Japanese delegates, university leadership, and the campus community in a meaningful display of global partnership.

The inaugural ceremony was graced by eminent dignitaries, including Koji Sato, Director General, Japan Foundation, New Delhi; Hiroshi Furuta, CMD, Toshiba (T&D India); Rama Bhadra, Founder, Na Ra Japan Hub; and Ms. Chikako Hironaka and Kazutoshi Tamari from Chukyo University, Japan.

Also present were Daisuke Tanji, CEO, Indobox Inc.; and Tomio Isogai, Advisor, Indobox Inc., along with senior leadership from Woxsen University.

The dignitaries emphasized the growing significance of Indo–Japanese collaboration in education, industry, and cultural exchange. The program also featured presentations by Japanese language students and participants of the Japan Immersion Program.
The cultural segment included workshops such as Sumi-e painting, Calligraphy Art, Ikebana, martial arts, and interactive discussions.
The Cosplay event added a contemporary dimension to the celebration. Evening highlights included an Indo–Japanese cultural performance by Mrs. Nalini Toshniwal and her team, a dance performance by the All Girls Band from St. Ann’s College for Women, and a special musical performance by the J-Hind Band, featuring a surprise appearance by Tanji-san.
 True to its name, Kizuna, meaning “bond,” the event reflected unity and shared vision, setting a strong foundation for future international engagements by the Woxsen Japan Centre.
