Korean traders body World OKTA New Delhi on expansion spree, invites more to become members

It aims to add more Korean traders to World OKTA, New Delhi to help them to do more effective business in India.

NEW DELHI: The New Delhi branch of World Federation of Overseas Korean Traders Associations (World OKTA) has invited more Korean traders operating in New Delhi and NCR towns to join this business promotion platform. Recently, World OKTA, New Delhi invited many Korean traders to India KOSME Global Business Center and made a presentation to make them aware of the support they can expect by becoming members of this organization.

Tae Hwan Lim, President, World OKTA, New Delhi and his team members addressed the participating Korean traders and made them aware of various opportunities and challenges present in the Indian business eco-system. It has 27 Korean traders, food & beverages, Korean grocery merchants and importers, restaurant owners as members who are based in Delhi, Gurugram, and NOIDA.   

“We made a presentation to the participating Korean traders and entrepreneurs who are yet not our members. Through this presentation, we informed them how World OKTA, New Delhi help them by addressing various business-related concerns with its network in business and government circles. By becoming members of our platform, these traders will offer them an ease of doing business,” said Tae Hwan Lim.

Lim said that the motive behind this presentation was to increase the membership of World OKTA, New Delhi and motivate lot more Korean traders to do more effective business in India.

Kevin Park, Managing Director, AI-POS Trading, Gyeonggi-do, Korea who participated in the presentation said that it was his fourth visit to India and he really loved this country which offered huge business opportunities. His company deals in display panels, and are planning to expand and sell the same in India. He said that the presentation was very useful and informative as well.

The parent organization World OKTA, is the largest economic organization with 7.5 million overseas Koreans with its branches in the United States, Japan, China, Europe, Asia, and Oceania.

Established in 1981, it has been working to promote economic development and exports in its home country. As the largest Korean overseas economic network, it has over 7,000 overseas Korean CEOs and 21,000 next-generation entrepreneurs in 146 branches in 67 countries around the world.

Its work objectives include strengthening the capabilities of representatives of each overseas branch, providing key information, and exploring ways to revitalize the branch, providing opportunities to attract investment and tourism between overseas Korean businesspeople and domestic local governments, developing export channels and providing human networks between overseas Korean buyers and domestic small and medium-sized businesses, and strengthening the capabilities of Korean businesspeople in respective countries of its operations.

World OKTA aims to promote new business development for the next 100 years. It has fostered talented next-generation global talents over the past 20 years, and now it needs to create opportunities for more than 30,000 talented people to contribute to their home countries. To this end, it is developing and promoting joint projects with local governments and educational institutions at each level in their home countries to encourage new members while striving to create rights and opportunities.

As the current international situation is facing a desperate economic, social, and environmental crisis caused by the war between Russia and Ukraine, the war between Israel and Palestine, and climate change that has never been experienced before. Additionally, international supply chains are being reorganized.

“In the face of these various difficult challenges, we will actively respond to and cooperate with the government’s economic policies and make efforts to ensure coexistence between our home country and overseas Korean businesspeople. It is time to break away from existing thinking and frameworks to discover new business opportunities and create value,” said World OKTA president Park Jong-beom in his first address.
