May 27-June 2: Korean artist’s extraordinary paintings depicting Indian ordinary life on display at JAGRATI Group Art Exhibition

NEW DELHI: After having made her debut in the Indian art world last year, Ms. Katrina Junghwa Kim – an amateur painter of South Korean origin is once again back with her artworks.
Working as an economist and senior researcher at the Korean Embassy in New Delhi, Junghwa Kim is exhibiting five of her paintings in an upcoming group exhibition JAGRATI being organized by Luna Arts at All India Fine Arts & Crafts Society ( AIFACS), New Delhi on May 27- June 2, 2022.

It’s a 7-day offline group art show featuring 34 talented artists from different parts of India. The categories include handmade original paintings and sculptures.
Last year, she participated in Utsav-2, Celebration of Arts 2021, a 4-day exhibition on December 10-13 at Visual Art Gallery, India Habitat Center, New Delhi.
Fascinated by the ordinary life and people in India, Junghwa Kim specializes in landscape and human figures. She loves to paint them with strong, impressive, and warm colors. She participated in a group exhibition at the Indian Habitat Center in December 2021.

Having been awarded at several art competitions in Korea, such as Korean Woman Art Competition in Seoul, and International Art Competition in Busan, South Korea, she also participated in a group exhibition in Brasilia, Brazil.
Titled as ‘Basket of Wishes’ (60X60 cm), and ‘Ladies in Jaipur’ (75X60 cm), ‘One afternoon of the City Place, Jaipur’ (60x60cm), ‘Boy in Rishikesh lake’ (60x60cm), and ‘Women’s break time’ (75x60cm) all are oil paintings on canvas with their themes revolving around her visit to Jaipur. AIFACS is one of the prestigious and oldest art societies in India with a strong historical significance. Founded in 1928 by the British Indian Government to showcase Indian Art and Artists globally.
LUNA ARTS is an online art marketplace for talented Indian artists and also organizes offline art exhibitions. It was founded by abstract artist Smita Biswas and her brother Tushar in December 2019.
The exhibition name JAGRATI means spiritual awakening. Art is also the spiritual/metaphysical medium to create a shift in human consciousness. It elevates our soul and awakens us to connect our inner self with the energy of the universe.
