Naturopathy has to be replicated on a comprehensive scale: Dr. Harsh Vardhan

NEW DELHI: Dr. Harsh Vardhan, Union Health Minister has said that if health services are to be made available to common men, then our country’s traditional therapies such as Yog- Naturopathy, and Ayurveda are required to be replicated on a comprehensive scale.

Dr. Vardhan was addressing a webinar organized by Surya Foundation and International Naturopathy Organisation (INO) with the support of the Ministry of AYUSH At on the occasion of Naturopathy day celebration program on Wednesday.

“By adopting Naturopathy, Yog, and Ayurveda, we can teach a healthy art of living to an individual. In India, there is a convention among common people that in the USA and European countries, good scientists and the best health services are available to their citizens. But now in the USA and other countries also peoples are attracted towards Yog, Ayurveda, Naturopathy, Organic products, Homeopathy and other drugless therapies,” said the health minister.

Dr. Harsh Vardhan said that Father of Nation Mahatma Gandhi had to believe in Naturopathy, to keep healthy himself and always advised to follow Naturopathy to his near and dear. Naturopathy is a self-healing and non-invasive therapy with the motive to eradicate the root cause of disease by proper use of natural elements available in abundance. In Naturopathy, Hydrotherapy, Mud-therapy, Fasting and natural food (fresh fruits and vegetables) plays a decisive role in curing various diseases.

Ayush Minister Sripad Naik

While addressing the world vide people linked through an International webinar Ayush Minister Sripad Naik said that at the occasion of the 151st birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, the ‘Return to Nature’ campaign initiated by Surya Foundation and INO, being a social organization, has been organized under the able guidance of its inceptor (founder) Padamshri Jai Parkash Ji.

On this occasion, Sripad Naik said that Naturopathy was the favorite subject of Gandhi Ji which he experimented on his own, his family members, and friends. Father of Nation Mahatma Gandhi established All India Nature Cure Foundation at Pune on 18th November 1946 enabling knowledge and benefits of Naturopathy must reach to every house and village, the motive behind it was to propagate the Naturopathy and to establish the Naturopathy University. Keeping in view this aspect, (this day) AYUSH Ministry has declared as National Naturopathy Day on 18th November 2018 and to establish a large Naturopathy Research Centre and a modern Naturopathy Hospital at Pune with a sanctioned budget provision of Rs 300 crores.

INO, National Institute of Naturopathy, Pune and Central Council for Research in Yog and Naturopathy, with the support of AYUSH Ministry, Govt. of India, 3rd National Naturopathy Day celebration with a Motto – ‘Health dependency through Naturopathy’, an International Webinar was inaugurated by an industrialist and INO Chairman Padamshri Jai Parkash ji. In his inaugural speech, Shri Jai Parkash ji said that yoga and naturopathy are the most valuable gifts of our Indian traditions and cultures as Yoga established the balance among body, mind, and nature. It is a composite view of health and welfare. Yoga and Naturopathy create awareness inside of our body by changing our lifestyle and our body has to be accustomed in accordance with outside natural changes.

On this occasion, Sanjay Dhotre, Hon’ble State Minister of Education, said that Mahatma Gandhi viewed that with our physical health, mental health is also essential and that can only be helpful in shaping the integral development of an individual. Among school children, Yoga & Naturopathy as a healthy lifestyle may prove to be blissful to them. He further said that according to Swami Vivekanand, a child will move towards immorality when there will be a road-block in the development of the body as well as mind altogether.

In this International Webinar, Member of AYUSH Ministry and National President of INO, Dr. Anant Biradar described the Kaun Banega Swasthya Rakshak (KBSR) competition designed for the students under the ‘Return to Nature’ Campaign at the International level from 02 Oct to 18 Nov 2020. At this occasion, Dr. Biradar further said that in the KBSR competition based on yoga, Naturopathy, Food, and lifestyle more than one lakh students have participated from the USA, Australia, England, Thailand, Mauritius, Oman, Dubai, and Nepal in addition to 500 Districts of 31 States and Union Territories of India. Dr. Biradar further informed that more than 14 lakhs people have participated virtually in a yoga practice at the occasion of the celebration of International Day of Yoga 2020. For these concerted efforts, INO has been awarded the ‘Silver Award’  by the Ministry of AYUSH.

While addressing the International Webinar, Raju Bisht, Member of Parliament (Lok Sabha) said that he has seen the inception of INO as a small plant to a grown-up tree under the able guidance of the Founder of INO – Padamshri Jai Parkash. He further said that the INO was founded and started functioning at Sadhna Sthali, Jhinjholi, and activities of Naturopathy has expanded up to 500 Districts of the country and abroad. Shri Raju Bisht has further viewed that it seems that the dream of Gandhi Ji that knowledge and benefits of Naturopathy must reach to every house and village will become true by such programs through the organizations.

At this occasion, Acharya Lokesh Muni Ji, Dr. Vikram Singh, Director-Ministry of AYUSH,
Dr. Satya Lakshmi, Director-National Institute of Naturopathy-Pune, Dr. Raghavendra Rao, Director-Central Council for Research in Yog & Naturopathy also expressed their views on the importance of Naturopathy.
