Tokyo: Tokyo-based noted healing expert and yoga practitioner Nupur Tewari has coined the idea of using Khadi Yogaware – the outfits made of Indian traditional fabric Khadi, while in yoga and meditation sessions.

Founder of socially motivated organization Heal Tokyo, Nupur said this during a yoga and meditation session held at the University of Sacred Heart, Tokyo recently where Mrs. Gunjan Verma, the wife of Indian ambassador to Japan Sanjay Kumar Verma was present as special guest.

“Yoga and mediation boost the human personality spiritually and the Khadi outfits compliment the impact of mind and body both. Majority of people wear attires made of synthetic, polyester or cotton- mixed yarn which are harmful to the body. It should be 100 percent cotton or Khadi to have holistic benefit of Yoga,’ she added.

The event was organized jointly by Heal Tokyo and Japan India Women’s Forum and the particiapnts were executives aged between 20 and 40 from well-known companies. The participants felt rejuvenated as it was a way out of work stress.

Tamika Ohba, the president of Japan India Women’s Forum was also present on the occasion.

Wearing traditional Indian Sari, Mrs. Gunjan Verma took active interest in the session and remained there for about two hours.

Mrs. Gunjan was all praise of the yoga and meditation session and she said such sessions not only helped promote exchange of two cultures of India and Japan but also added peace in human lives to realize their potential.
