2027 World Culture and Arts Grand Prix Eyes Youth Participation from India

NEW DELHI: Young singers, dancers, musicians and other artistic talents from India are being encouraged to take their abilities to an international stage as Loverock Foundation seeks strong Indian participation in the 2027 World Culture and Arts Grand Prix, scheduled for January 16, 2027, in Seoul, Republic of Korea.

The event will bring together performers across age groups under the theme “One World, One Stage,” combining artistic competition with opportunities for cultural exchange. For Indian youngsters, it offers a platform to present their talent while engaging with artistic expressions from other countries.

Loverock Foundation Chairperson Jiyeon Kim expressed hope that India would be represented by an enthusiastic contingent of young performers.

“This is a prestigious event where young people from across the world participate. This time, we hope a large number of young people from India will also show interest and take part,” Kim said.

Recently, Ms. Kim was visiting New Delhi to attend UP International Trade Show 2026. She was part of a large Korean delegation led by Hyunsook Lee of Saehan Global from Seoul.

Organised by Loverock Foundation, this edition will be held at Art Hall Bom, 18, Yeouidaebang-ro 54-gil, Dongjak-gu, Seoul, beginning at 10 a.m. Competitors can enter four categories—singing, instrumental music, dance and open arts—as solo performers or groups.

The invitation to Indian participants aligns with the foundation’s stated mission of connecting generations and communities through arts and culture. Its activities include arts education and Social and Emotional Learning for children and young people, integrated arts education for seniors, performances and international cultural exchange programmes.

The foundation’s experience includes the World Youth Culture & Arts Festival (WCAF), which, according to its introductory material, began in Florence, Italy, in 2017, and subsequently continued in countries including Korea, Australia and China.

Through performances and shared experiences, the festival encourages children and young people to act as cultural and arts ambassadors, develop friendships and deepen their understanding of different traditions.

Its documented festival history includes events at the National Assembly of the Republic of Korea and in Florence in 2017; Sydney and Boeun in 2018; and the Chinese cities of Zaozhuang and Qingdao in 2019. Further events are recorded in Seoul and Qingdao in 2025 and Seoul in 2026.

While encouraging youth participation, the forthcoming Grand Prix also accommodates performers across generations. Its four age divisions comprise kids, juniors, adults and seniors. The junior category covers ages 13–19, adults 20–59, and seniors 60 and above. Teams may include members from other age groups up to a limit of 20 per cent.

Applications must be submitted through the designated Google Form https://forms.gle/tLjDidAvuQppWL8A6 by 11:59 p.m. on December 12, 2026. The participation fee is KRW 120,000 for a solo entry and KRW 80,000 per person for groups, which must comprise at least two members.

Grand prize winners in each age division will receive a certificate and trophy. Gold, silver, and bronze awards by age group and category will include certificates, along with Best Instructor and Best Institution awards.

Performances must remain within four minutes. Music must be age-appropriate and uploaded during registration in MP3 format, with a maximum file size of 5 MB. Participants must also carry a USB backup. Backing-track accompaniment and live performance are permitted, although no piano will be provided.

The performance order will be determined by a random draw after registration closes and announced on @loverock_cna on Instagram. Competitors must check in at least 30 minutes before their scheduled appearance, while audience admission requires pre-registration.
