Tokyo/New Delhi, October 5, 2025 — Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini commenced his official visit to Japan today, leading a high-level delegation on a mission to deepen economic ties and attract expanded Japanese investment to the northern Indian state. Scheduled from October 5 to 11, the visit includes key meetings with government officials, business leaders, and stakeholders at the Global Investors’ Exhibition in Japan, where Haryana will showcase its industrial potential and business-friendly environment.

Saini is set to visit the Haryana Pavilion at the exhibition, making a strong pitch to Japanese companies to explore investment opportunities across sectors, including automotive, electronics, software, and infrastructure. Currently, Japan accounts for nearly one-third of all foreign investments in Haryana, with more than 600 Japanese companies operating in the state’s industrial hubs. One of them is Gurugram—a city that has evolved into a global business destination since the 1980s, largely due to Strategic investments like those made by Maruti Suzuki.

Strategically located with excellent connectivity to Chandigarh and neighbouring states, including Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, and Uttarakhand, the cluster is envisioned to boost regional industrial development and create employment opportunities.

The Haryana government aims to leverage strong bilateral relations to enhance infrastructure projects, environmental management, and digital initiatives, all of which are aligned with the state’s vision of developing 10 industrial model townships by 2030.

Chief Minister Saini’s visit to Japan arrives at a pivotal moment as Haryana seeks to cement its role as an industrial powerhouse in India, matched by Japan’s strategic interest in deeper engagement with India amid shifting global economic landscapes. Officials express optimism that the strengthened partnership will bring new momentum to the state’s manufacturing capabilities, technological advancement, and sustainable development goals.

With the delegation poised to hold discussions with senior Japanese industrialists and government representatives, the visit promises to be a cornerstone for elevating Haryana’s global footprint and fostering mutually beneficial Indo-Japanese ties well into the future.
