KOSMA has formally established the Secretariat and appointed dedicated personnel to strengthen the foundation for supporting Korean companies entering the Indian market and to expand cooperation between Korean and Indian SMEs. It will provide systematic market-entry support and network-linkage services for Korean SMEs seeking to enter India, as well as for those already operating in the country, including Korean businesses in India.

Through these efforts, KOSMA aims to reinforce its role as a cooperation platform among Korea–India related institutions and economic organizations, and to build a practical foundation for enhanced SME collaboration between the two countries.

KOSME Director Jaekyung Lee stated, “KOSME New Delhi GBC will work closely with KOSMA to actively support Korean SMEs entering the Indian market and to identify new joint projects aimed at expanding Korea–India SME cooperation. We will also jointly promote initiatives such as ‘Korea SME Day’ and Korean Wave (K-Culture)-based consumer goods promotion events, further broadening the scope of collaborative programs.”

KOSMA Chairman Sungheum Park likewise emphasized, “Through the systematic operation of KOSMA’s official Secretariat, we will further strengthen cooperation with public institutions, including the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in India and KOSME, and expand practical support for Korean SMEs advancing into the Indian market.”

Going forward, the KOSMA Secretariat plans to provide comprehensive information on regulations, policies, and market trends necessary for entering and operating in the Indian market. It will also collaborate with related institutions such as KOSME, KOTRA, the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in India, and the Federation of Indian Micro and Small & Medium Enterprises (FISME) to jointly organise K-Culture-based consumer goods promotion events, exhibitions, experiential marketing programs, and seminars.

In addition, it will co-plan and operate exchange and cooperation events such as “Korea SME Day,” develop joint programs in connection with major industry exhibitions, forums, and business matching events in India, and gather corporate grievances related to regulations, customs clearance, taxation, labor, and certification to submit joint recommendations to the Indian government and relevant authorities.

The Secretariat will also enhance practical support functions, including facilitating networking among GBC resident companies, identifying local partners, and providing administrative and operational guidance for initial market settlement.

The KOSMA Secretariat will comprehensively carry out administrative operations, financial and accounting management, event planning and operational support, as well as external communications and public relations, positioning itself as a key support hub for Korean SMEs operating in or entering India. The launch of the Secretariat is expected to serve as an important milestone in strengthening the foundation for Korea–India SME cooperation.
