Never Give or Take Any Excuse

I have been in Sales for many years and for any Sales Person targets are part of life. Every time the targets were achieved, there was only one statement that targets have been achieved. And when targets were not achieved, there were always reasons and lengthy presentations.
I believe because of this ongoing crisis many in someway have fallen behind whatever they have been doing before the onset of the crisis. And they all have genuine reasons and valid assumptions for lagging behind or not doing well. While some of us have changed with the rapidly changing times, seized the opportunities emerging out of the crisis, and are probably doing better than many. And they all have only one statement that They Do Not Give or Take Any Excuse.
I attribute my success to this: I never gave or took an excuse – Florence Nightingale.
I think the above quote has become so relevant in today’s context. I believe our complaints, our victim mentality, our whining, our blaming, and all of our excuses will NOT help us go anywhere in the present ongoing crisis. With the rapidly changing external environment, the needs of the people, and the way we live & work has changed.
Hence, It becomes important for all of us to not get into a self-created trap of finding excuses, what we believe are genuine reasons for not able to make the required changes to survive. In our Startup Jeevitam, we have always tried to create a Positive Mindset and have constantly evolved with the fast-changing environment which has kept us in good stead.
I think in today’s times it’s a natural reaction of many when they do not want to do anything they are supposed to do is to find an excuse. I Don’t Have Time, I’ll Do It Later, Not The Right Age, Too Difficult is the most common excuse we hear from many. I keep saying that this crisis is an opportunity for us to reset we way we live and work. I believe the ones who find happiness are the ones who don’t make excuses. If it’s broken, they fix it, if it’s wrong they make it right. Let us look at finding new ways of doing things, spot new opportunities, believe in ourselves, and stay positive to stay relevant. At the end of the day, let there be no excuses, no explanations, no regrets.
Happy Sunday!! Keep Moving & Smiling!!
