India’s INLAMOBI and Taiwan Beauty Valley join hands to advance sustainable cosmetics
The partnership links Assam’s emerging bio-based industry ecosystem with Taiwan’s beauty sector to explore research, natural ingredients, manufacturing and market access.
TAIPEI – INLAMOBI Blue Valley Cluster Pvt. Ltd., India, and Taiwan Beauty Valley (Taiwan Ligu Industry Innovation Alliance) have entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to establish a framework for cooperation between Taiwan’s cosmetics industry and India’s emerging ecosystem for cosmetics, natural ingredients and sustainable bio-based industries.
The MoU was signed by Vijay Koumar, Managing Director, on behalf of INLAMOBI Blue Valley Cluster Pvt. Ltd., and Li Lin-yuan, President, representing Taiwan Beauty Valley, during the Taiwan Beauty Valley Alliance event, which held its 10th Anniversary Celebration and International Beauty Summit on October 30 at the IEAT Convention Centre in Taipei.
The MoU seeks to create new opportunities for long-term collaboration among cosmetics companies, ingredient suppliers, manufacturers, research institutions, and industry stakeholders by connecting Taiwan’s beauty industry capabilities with India’s biodiversity-based resources, scientific expertise, and manufacturing potential. This partnership between Taiwan Beauty Valley’s cosmetics industry network and INLAMOBI’s Blue Valley Cluster in Assam, India, creates an opportunity for Taiwanese cosmetics companies to engage with the latter ecosystem and facilitate stakeholder engagement, identify areas of shared interest and support the development of practical initiatives that strengthen Taiwan–India industrial connections.
Under the MoU, the Parties intend to explore collaboration in cosmetic formulation development, ingredient analysis, product innovation and scientific research. The partnership will also focus on sustainable sourcing, processing and value addition of botanical extracts, essential oils and other natural ingredients, alongside opportunities in pilot production, packaging, manufacturing and commercial scale-up. It will further explore access to shared infrastructure and service centres at Assam’s Blue Valley Cluster, subject to availability, approvals and mutually agreed terms.
Other key areas include responsible sourcing, resource efficiency, support for local enterprises and biodiversity-linked livelihoods, as well as business matchmaking, industry networking, distribution partnerships and access to domestic and international markets.
Specific projects and commercial activities will be developed in accordance with operational readiness, available resources, applicable regulatory requirements and separate agreements, where necessary.
INLAMOBI Blue Valley Cluster: Connecting Biodiversity, Innovation and Industry: INLAMOBI Blue Valley Cluster Pvt. Ltd. and Taiwan Beauty Valley represent complementary industrial ecosystems, sharing a focus on innovation, sustainable development, and international collaboration. INLAMOBI Blue Valley Cluster, a global orchestrator of regenerative industrial ecosystems, is being developed as an integrated industrial and innovation ecosystem connecting Northeast India’s biodiversity and natural resources with scientific research, sustainable processing, manufacturing partnerships and international markets.
With Assam as its central hub, the Cluster aims to strengthen value chains across cosmetics, fragrances and flavours, botanical ingredients and related bio-based industries by connecting raw-material producers, local enterprises, technology providers, research institutions and international companies. Taiwan Beauty Valley (Taiwan Ligu Industry Innovation Alliance), founded in 2016 in Tainan, Taiwan, is a founding member of the Global Cosmetics Cluster and brings together more than 120 members across Taiwan’s beauty and cosmetics ecosystem, including companies, public institutions, academic organisations, and research and medical institutions.
Building on Taiwan’s strengths in technology, innovation and manufacturing, Taiwan Beauty Valley promotes industry collaboration and international engagement. Through this partnership, the Parties aim to connect Taiwan’s cosmetics industry capabilities with Assam’s biodiversity-based resources and emerging industrial ecosystem, creating opportunities for knowledge exchange, collaborative innovation, sustainable ingredient development, manufacturing partnerships and access to wider regional and international markets.
Strengthening Taiwan–India Industrial and Cultural Connections: This MOU comes against the backdrop of growing economic engagement between Taiwan and India, supported by shared interests in innovation, technology, trade, manufacturing and sustainable development. Beyond commercial cooperation, longstanding cultural exchanges, educational engagements, and people-to-people connections between the two countries provide a broader foundation for building mutually beneficial relationships.
Furthermore, India’s Act East Policy is positioned to strengthen regional trade, industrial collaboration, connectivity and cultural exchange with ASEAN countries. Within this broader framework, Assam and Northeast India offer a strategic geographical and economic link between India and Taiwan. Assam’s biodiversity, agricultural resources, entrepreneurial ecosystem and emerging industrial infrastructure create opportunities to connect sophisticated international technology and latest manufacturing capabilities with locally-rooted value chains. Thus, this collaboration between INLAMOBI’s Blue Valley Cluster and Taiwan Beauty Valley would use their complementary strengths to support business partnerships, sustainable ingredient development, innovation, and market access across India and the wider Asian and global markets.
