July 9: Final round of K-POP India Contest 2022, live streaming on KCCI YouTube channel

NEW DELHI: The final round of the K-POP India Contest 2022 will be conducted on July 9 from 5 PM onwards via YouTube live streaming on the official channel of Korean Cultural Centre India.

Owing to the safety concerns because of Covid-19, it was decided that the contest will be conducted online in the current year as well.

The Final Round of the K-POP India Contest 2022 will be live screened on the Korean Cultural Centre India YouTube Channel. The video will have 40 exciting performances by Vocal and Dance winners of the Regional Rounds conducted in 20 cities, along with special performances by our Judges Singer Kim Soula, and 2022 K-POP Dance Academy instructor Jay Kim.

The contest will also be broadcasted on the official channel of Pink Villa. The event’s full details and live streaming links will be announced on the social media platform and website of the Korean Cultural Centre India soon.

The first round or the Online Round (4th April ~ 28th April) saw a participation of 1,709 (Vocal 806, Dance 903) people from all across the country. The winners of this round got to participate in the second round or the Regional Round (23rd May ~ 12th June) conducted in 20 cities through the YouTube live streaming on the official YouTube channel of Korean Cultural Centre India and saw a viewership of 74,484 people.

Regarding the event, Hwang Il-yong, Director of Korean Cultural Centre India said ‘It feels like the event is no longer organized by Korean Cultural Centre India but an event created by the K-POP fans and participants. It is a great joy to see the growth in the participants’ skills over the years. In the current year, both the vocal and dance winners will get the opportunity to apply for the K-POP World Festival, and we believe they will do well.’

Two dance category winners, and one vocal winner of the Final Round will get the opportunity to apply for the K-POP World Festival to be held in Korea.
