New Delhi, India ­- The Delhi Development Authority (DDA) has officially launched its much-anticipated membership drive for the newly developed Dwarka Golf Course, the longest public championship golf course in India. While Indian nationals can apply for tenure-based playing rights starting from ₹2 lakh, foreign nationals and embassy nominees will need to pay as much as US $3,000 (Individual/NRI) and US $15,000 (Diplomat) for a five-year membership, along with an annual subscription of $1,500.

The steep slab for international applicants underlines DDA’s ambition to position the sprawling 18-hole facility as a premium golfing destination catering to both domestic and global players.

Set in Sector 24 of the Dwarka sub-city, the 158-acre championship course spans 7,377 yards, making it the longest 18-hole golf course in India. It is designed to global standards, featuring the longest par-5 hole at 720 yards, advanced drainage systems, and a tech-driven clubhouse that offers everything from high-end simulators and a biomechanics studio to a swimming pool and fine dining lounges.

While Indian nationals can obtain a 5-year playing right for ₹3 lakh in the government category and ₹9 lakh in the non-government category, the entry cost for foreigners is steep. Diplomatic and international organization nominees will pay US$15,000 per nominee, with an annual subscription of $1,500. Non-diplomatic foreigners and NRIs can opt for a one-year membership at $3,000, also with an annual fee of $1,500.

Designed by Australian architects Phil Ryan and Paul Reeves, the course also features a Centre of Excellence for Golf, which trains budding athletes with facilities including a double-decker, 374-yard night-lit driving range, high-speed simulators, fitness studios, and a dedicated junior development program. Special provisions are also in place for economically weaker section (EWS) children, who can access free coaching under the Junior Development Programme (JDP).

Membership applications for 2,000 slots across seven categories, including 50 for foreign entities and another 50 for individual foreigners/NRIs, are being accepted.

Col (Retd.) Sanjay Sharma, Secretary of Dwarka Golf Course, stated that the driving range has become operational, and some members have begun practicing here. “However, the golf course and other facilities such as the clubhouse, café, and others would take another couple of months to complete, and the work on these was going on,” Col. Sharma added.

As many as 500 membership applications have so far been received by the authorities, but the authorities have yet to receive applications from the expatriate community.

Allocation will be made on a first-come, first-served basis, and applicants are required to upload documents such as passports, proof of residence, and diplomatic credentials for verification purposes. Spouses and children aged 5 to 21 years may be added as dependents under dependent usage rights, subject to applicable monthly charges.

Non-members and casual players can also access the course through monthly Pay & Play cards, available for ₹25,000. Green fees for foreign nationals range from ₹1,800 to ₹5,000, depending on day and hole count, nearly double the fee structure for Indian citizens.
