GURUGRAM: Sometimes to create a really good restaurant you need to go the extra mile (literally) and venture a little bit further outside the Garden Ring;  Viet: Nom absolutely did that and prides itself on creating an authentic Vietnamese ambiance.

From hunting to taming the wild and to the mass-produced era of globalization; seasoned food critic Rupali Dean and Chef Aakash Nakra tried to pour the history of this nation and its nostalgia for traditional dishes into every aspect – sight, smell, and savor – of this delectable cuisine.

Viet-Nom, a delightful epicurean odyssey from Vietnam

Viet-Nom is the brainchild of Manish Sharma, a seasoned restaurateur, and Sahil Sambhi, a Brand owner who has already tasted success with Molecule and Drunken Botanist. With Viet-nom, Manish forays into the space of premium dining through specialized cuisine that brings selected favorites from vibrant Vietnam by offering quintessential dishes made from ingredients as ordinary as fish sauce, sugar, and rice.

Viet: Nom is the earliest to familiarise Vietnamese coffee to curious diners. Not only this, the bar is stimulated by Vietnamese and Asian classics with contemporary infusions for a tipsy thrill.

For those new to Vietnamese cuisine, there can be no better overview and for the epicures, this can be the go-to place. All hunts for the typical bowl of pho takes one to Viet: Nom. The broth here is agreeably appetizing and kaleidoscopic, it’s practically a dishonor to distraught with the adding of the abundant sriracha or hoisin sauce.

If you haven’t hopped the gun and well-ordered the Pho right away, the starter section comes with shareable Vietnamese rudiments like the white rose tapioca dumplings filled with mung bean paste. Another prevalent dish here is the Shrimp mousse on sugarcane skewers, this traditional dish from the South of Vietnam is a simple go-to for seafood lovers.  Recommendations go all out for the Pho, Salmon and Avocado summer rolls, pomelo and papaya salad, chicken and chili dumplings, roasted eggplant, stone hot pot fish, and the Mango curry.
