JECI and Iris Florets World School Launch Japan-Focused Excellence Center in Hyderabad
India–Japan partnership to provide K-12 students with Japanese language education, global career pathways, skill development, and international exposure
Hyderabad, June 5, 2026: In a landmark initiative aimed at strengthening educational ties between India and Japan, the Japan Education Center And Information Foundation (JECI) and Iris Florets World School (IFWS) have signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) to establish the JHUB JECI Excellence Center for K-12 Schools at the school’s two campuses in Hyderabad.
The collaboration marks a significant step toward integrating Japanese language education, skill development, quality management practices, and international learning opportunities into the K-12 education system. The newly established center is expected to provide students with a unique platform to develop global competencies and gain access to academic and career pathways connected with Japan.
Under the agreement, the Iris Florets World School campuses will function as authorized JECI Skill Units, offering a wide range of Japan-focused educational programs. These initiatives will include Japanese language training and preparation for internationally recognized Japanese Language Proficiency Test (JLPT) certifications, workplace skill development, Japanese-style cleanliness and civic responsibility programs, and Total Quality Management (TQM) practices in school education.
The center will also facilitate study, work, and live-in-Japan pathways, academic and cultural exchange programs, industry interaction opportunities, career guidance, university counseling, and martial arts training linked to certification pathways from Japan. Several activities will align with national and global initiatives such as Skill India, Make in India, Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Students from middle school to senior secondary levels will benefit from structured Japanese language programs while gaining exposure to Japanese culture, innovation, discipline, and productivity methodologies. The initiative will also promote student exchanges, debates, cultural interactions, and collaborative educational activities designed to enhance international understanding and cross-cultural competence.
Speaking on the occasion, Capt. Raj Adhikary, President and CEO of JECI, said that India and Japan share a strong and expanding strategic partnership. He noted that the JHUB JECI Excellence Center would introduce students to Japanese values of discipline, quality, continuous improvement, and global citizenship from an early age, while creating meaningful pathways to educational, cultural, and professional opportunities associated with Japan.
Representatives of Iris Florets World School welcomed the partnership and expressed confidence that the collaboration would provide students with valuable international exposure, future-ready skills, and a learning environment aligned with global standards.
The initiative reflects the growing demand for Japan-focused education and skill development in India and demonstrates the commitment of both institutions to preparing students for success in an increasingly interconnected world. By combining IFWS’s educational expertise with JECI’s experience in language training, academic mobility, and workforce development, the partnership is expected to serve as a model for future international collaborations at the school level.
