Japanese amateur musicians Takashi Suzuki, Koji Sato, Taisei Toyomaru, and Akihiko Oki will perform live at Anime India Delhi 2026 at 3.45 pm at Yashobhoomi, adding a cross-cultural musical punch to the anime, manga, gaming, and Japanese pop culture celebration.
New Delhi: Delhi’s anime and Japanese pop-culture fans are in for a high-energy live music experience today as J-Hind Band takes the stage at Anime India Delhi 2026, being held on June 6–7 at Yashobhoomi, Delhi. The event is listed on District by Zomato, with the programme scheduled from 10:00 AM onwards, while Yashobhoomi’s official event calendar also lists Anime India 2026 for June 6–7.
Carrying the tagline “Japan Vibe, Desi Energy,” J-Hind Band’s performance is expected to blend Japanese musical sensibilities with the excitement of India’s fast-growing anime and pop-culture community. The four-member band features Takashi Suzuki, Koji Sato, Taisei Toyomaru and Akihiko Oki, who will perform live for fans at the Delhi edition of Anime India.
J-Hind Band is an all-Japanese amateur music group that has emerged as a lively cultural bridge between India and Japan, winning attention for its unique mix of Hindi, Japanese and popular Indian film songs.
The performance adds a strong cultural dimension to Anime India Delhi, which is positioned as a celebration of anime, manga, gaming, cosplay and Japanese pop culture. Public event listings describe the festival as a platform for fans and creators to come together at the Yashobhoomi Convention Centre in Dwarka.
The presenters include Delhi Anime India in association with Anime Times and Toyota. Toyota Kirloskar Motor has also announced its partnership with Animation Express for Anime India 2026, a multi-city event series aimed at engaging young audiences through anime, manga, gaming and Japanese pop culture.
For Delhi’s anime lovers, the arrival of J-Hind Band is more than a concert segment. It reflects the growing cultural crossover between India and Japan, where music, animation, fandom and live performances are creating new people-to-people connections. With Japanese musicians performing before an Indian anime audience, the stage is set for a spirited mix of rock, culture and fan energy.
Tickets for Anime India Delhi 2026 are available on District by Zomato. The event is being held at Yashobhoomi, Delhi, on June 6 and 7.
The four-member band is led by vocalist Koji Sato, with Takashi Suzuki and Akihiko Oki on guitar, and Taisei Toyomaru on drums. The members are not full-time professional musicians; they are Japanese professionals working in India-related institutions and companies. Koji Sato is associated with The Japan Foundation, New Delhi, Takashi Suzuki with JETRO New Delhi, and Taisei Toyomaru also with The Japan Foundation.
The group was formally announced as “J-Hind” around its performance at the Indo-Japan Music and Dance Fusion event held at Sky City Hotel, Gurugram, on September 8, 2024, as part of Japan Month celebrations supported by the Embassy of Japan in India. At that event, the band performed a mix of Indian and Japanese songs, including Hindi numbers such as “Chhoo Lo,” “Bole Chudiyan,” “Abhi Mujh Mein Kahin,” “Yeh Dosti Hum Nahin Chhodenge,” and the Japanese song “Ue o Muite Arukou.”
Before its formal launch as J-Hind, the core group had already performed at several India-Japan cultural platforms, including the inauguration of The Japan Foundation’s new office building in Green Park, New Delhi, and Konnichiwa Japan Festival 2023 at DLF Avenue Saket. It later performed at platforms such as the Shillong Cherry Blossom Festival’s Japan Arena, where its Japanese interpretation of Indian popular music was described as a cultural bridge between the two countries.
With its tagline-like appeal of “Japan vibe, desi energy,” J-Hind Band represents a rare people-to-people cultural initiative in which Japanese nationals perform Indian songs for Indian audiences, turning music into a warm symbol of India-Japan friendship.
