Global Yoga Circle Connects Teachers from 9 Countries, 4 Continents in Celebration of Int’l Day of Yoga 2026

Reflecting the global theme of "One Breath • One World • One Community," the series explored topics ranging from Ayurveda and Hatha Yoga to neuroscience, meditation, pranayama, Yoga Sutras, and practical tools for everyday wellbeing.

Singapore, 21 June 2026. In a powerful demonstration of yoga’s ability to transcend borders, cultures, and time zones, the Global Yoga Circle 2026 brought together leading yoga educators, researchers, and practitioners from nine countries across four continents for an eight-day international celebration of International Day of Yoga.

Jointly presented by the High Commission of India in Singapore and Pragya Yoga & Wellness Singapore, the online series created a unique platform for global learning, cultural exchange, and community connection through the shared language of yoga.

Hosted by Singapore-based yoga educator and wellness expert Dr. Sujata Cowlagi, the Global Yoga Circle featured internationally respected teachers from Russia, Malaysia, South Africa, Australia, Spain, Denmark, Brazil, India, and Singapore, each offering a distinct perspective on how yoga can support physical health, emotional wellbeing, mental clarity, resilience, and meaningful living.

The programme featured Irina Fursova (Russia)Yoga and Ayurveda for Beginners at Home: When Life Feels Unsteady; Manisekaran (Malaysia)Steady Body, Calm Mind: An Introduction to Hatha Yoga; Pam and Kugan Naidoo (South Africa)Exploring the Essence of Yoga Sutra: Sthiram Sukham Asanam; Josh Pryor (Australia)Pranayama: Freedom from the Skull;  Prof. Gopala (Jose Maria Marquez Jurado) (Spain) Breathe and Restore: Pranayama and Gentle Exercise for Everyday Wellness; Maj Ingemann-Molden (Denmark)Turn Inward: An Introduction to Pratyahara; Prof. Danilo Forghieri Santaella (Brazil)Neuroscience Applied to Meditation and Healthcare; and Dr. Kashinath (India) Integrating Practical Yoga Wisdom for Daily Living.

Over the course of the week, participants joined from multiple countries, creating a truly international learning community united by a shared interest in wellbeing, self-development, and the transformative potential of yoga.

A notable feature of the series was the diversity of voices represented. Participants had the opportunity to learn from teachers working in fields as varied as traditional yoga, Ayurveda, healthcare, neuroscience, education, research, and community wellbeing, demonstrating the continuing relevance of yoga in contemporary life.

Speaking about the initiative, Dr. Sujata Cowlagi, Founder and Director of Pragya Yoga & Wellness Singapore and host of the Global Yoga Circle, said, “Yoga has always been far more than physical exercise. It is a pathway to connection; connection with ourselves, with one another, and with the wider world. The Global Yoga Circle was created to celebrate that spirit by bringing together remarkable teachers from across the globe and creating a space where wisdom, compassion, and community could flourish.”

The Global Yoga Circle was presented as part of International Day of Yoga 2026 celebrations and reflects the growing international recognition of yoga as a holistic approach to health, wellbeing, and human flourishing.

The Global Yoga Circle is an international educational initiative jointly presented by the High Commission of India in Singapore and Pragya Yoga & Wellness Singapore. Through online talks, practices, and discussions led by internationally recognised teachers, the programme aims to foster global connection, lifelong learning, and holistic wellbeing through the wisdom and practice of yoga.
