India–Korea Forum Successfully Hosts Startup Dialogue in Seoul

Seoul, South Korea: 23 April 2026–  The India–Korea Forum (IKF) successfully hosted a high-level dialogue titled “Advancing India–Korea Startup Collaboration for a Future-Oriented Partnership” at the Global Startup Center in Seoul.

The forum brought together a diverse group of stakeholders, including startup founders, CEOs, academics, and policymakers from both India and Korea. The event witnessed strong participation and engagement, reflecting growing interest in strengthening bilateral startup collaboration and innovation-driven partnerships.

This dialogue was particularly significant as it followed closely after the recent India–Korea Summit held in New Delhi, where both Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Lee Jae Myung emphasized the importance of expanding cooperation in startups, SMEs, and innovation ecosystems. Building on this momentum, the forum served as a platform to translate high-level strategic intent into more practical and actionable discussions.

The forum was structured around key thematic sessions focusing on:

  • Comparative insights into the Indian and Korean startup ecosystems
  • Opportunities for Indian startups to expand into the Korean market
  • Pathways for Korean startups to engage more actively with India

Participants highlighted both the immense potential and existing challenges in bilateral startup collaboration, including market entry barriers, regulatory differences, and the need for stronger institutional support mechanisms. At the same time, there was a clear consensus that startups will play a critical role in shaping the next phase of India–Korea relations.

Speaking on the occasion, the Founder and Director of the India–Korea Forum, Prof. Rajiv Kumar, emphasized that startups and entrepreneurs are increasingly becoming central actors in international partnerships by driving innovation, facilitating cross-border collaboration, and contributing to sustainable economic growth.
